Charles Alexander.
Number 4.
Lined up in the backfield, hands on his hips.
Sweep right, the tear-away-jersey, bowling people on his way to a 200 yard game and a 1686 yard season.

(can't find a pic that does him justice)

Eddie Fuller catching that pass in the back of the end zone on 4th down in the "earthquake" game. I was 11 at the time and I can still remember it like it was yesterday. I was sitting in the south upper end zone where our family's season tickets were.

walking from the concessions concourse up the small ramp into TS and seeing the entire stadium open up in front me

the sights sounds and smells... sensory overload for a seven year old

First game in TS vs Florida - was about 7 or 8 so it would have been around the 73 or 74 season. We scored a TD and it was so loud I cried like a little girl.

Fortunately Girard Playground ball and a long run of Parish championships knocked the wuss out of me.

ETA: Just found the game - that would be Oct 6 1973 - a 24-3 Tiger victory on the way to an Orange Bowl birth. What's stunning is that I just now realized I saw a Charlie Mac game in person. Yikes!

As a small child standing 2 feet from the door of the Nebraska Cornhuskers bus when the team walked out in 1976, ranked #1 in the Country. Those bastards looked like giants and scared the shite out of me. I had post-traumatic stress for years after that. I think we tied 'em 3-3 or 6-6, or something like that.

when they filmed Everybody's All American

just kidding

I think for me it was the season I got to sell concessions. I was probably 15 or 16 and I remember one game, I think they were playing ole miss. It was raining so hard that you could barely see across the stadium. Didnt make any money, because hardly anyone was there but it was fun to watch. this was also before they put the nets up behind the field goals. we ran up and down the studium trying to catch the footballs.

Same here. I was a Freshman.

I'll never forget the roar of the crowd and for a moment being genuinely concerned about my hearing.

Seriously, it was that loud. I also remember it raining liquor, cups, flasks, etc.

I also remember my first sight of the field when I walked in for the first game (north texas or rice?) as a freshman. The biggest one I'd been to held maybe 30K. blown away.

Does anybody remember the old "TIGAH BAIT" guy in the SE side (if memory serves-could be wrong about location) of the stadium during the 70's ?

You could hear him EVERY game coming up the ramp.
He'd say it ALL night.
And after the game he'd get the whole stadim chanting on the way down the ramps.

We must be close to the same age.....

And I'd have to add the Tulane/LSU brawl.....Shawn Burks!!

If I remember correctly, the crowd as quaid ran for the end zone. Didn't they have 2 takes?

My first game ever in Tiger Stadium I'm about 8 years old and the guy behind me had one of those big foam cowboy hats that were popular at the time. He pulls out a fifth of JD and commences to make a drink. Well it's time for the National Anthem and everybody stands. He tells his wife, "Take off omy hat." kind of out the side of his mouth. She says what and he says it again but she still can't hear him. He turns toward her and goes "I said....." CRASH he drops the bottle of Jack. He tells her "Nevermind." and takes his hat off. Smelled Jack the rest of the game.

My biggest memory from childhood would probably either Mauck beating Tennessee in the SEC-CG or when Rohan and company beat them in OT in Tiger Stadium.
