He’s gonna be great at the pro level,

Based on what? One great year? No doubt his skills are top notch but other than physical ability I see nothing that tells me he will be a great pro. We don't know if he has the mental or physical toughness to play a 17 game season in the NFL. If his injuries were all bad enough for him to sit out which I think we all question. Then the question is how durable is he? If he was sandbagging then do you want someone on your roster who play that injury game and sit out anytime he has a bump or bruise. He is a question mark IMO, he can be great, but in no way is he a sure thing.

It's mind blowing that people don't understand this.

Based on the best year a cornerback has had in 20 years.

And I'd love to see how the fathers on here would react to tigerdroppings calling out their injured all world LSUfootball son, especially if you had a weekly platform like Derek Sr.

If he has a great NFL career, no one will remember what he did in college.

If he fails in the NFL, he will forever be remembered very differently.

Stingley can only hope that he can avoid serious injuries in the NFL. With his past history, he’s going to have a difficult time if he can’t stay healthy as an NFL corner. I wish him well.

He certainly has the talent, but his college career would suggest that he is coddled and soft. This will not play well at the next level.

This reminds me of the folks on this board saying Chase’s NFL career would suffer since he sat out a season

Call it what it is guys. O lost a very talented locker room. Stingley is going to be just fine in the NFL.

And as S mentioned, he was genuinely injured.

The only question about Stingley is durability. I'm sure it's something NFL scouts and execs will question. All these people acting like he faked a lisfranc injury and surgery because he lacks "heart" or whatever are just projecting their own inadequacies on him.

I think we need to stop over thinking things with Stingley. It’s fair to wonder about the OP question but in terms of him “mailing it in” or “quitting” everyone needs to chill Great freshman year and helped win a National title 2020 was a disaster for everyone on the team and i think he only missed those last two games plus the opener ‘21 he had a legitimate injury that he apparently tried to play through the first month of the season and then aggravated, making it worse. You don’t just “make up” a lisfranc fracture and have surgery. We’ll always have 19 and an elite Stingley doesn’t make much of a difference on either of our last two terrible teams

This. It almost deserves a sticky. People are always trashing the kid. I love LSU more than most and if my son was a future top 10 lock that was dealing with injuries and playing under the disaster O had going the last 2 years I’m not sure I would’ve handled it any differently. I wouldn’t have been on the radio like Sr but my son would be protected under those circumstances.

Correct and if he has taken the appropriate precautions and rehabbed as he should, he should be fine.

He’s elite and he gave us an elite year. And he will be a stud NFL corner.

Why would the fathers have a (2) weekly platform to begin with?
