How do y’all feel about our chances this season knowing we finally have some depth on both sides of the line? I honesty feel like if we had depth on the lines in 2015, the season goes completely different. The past is the past I know. 2018 is here and we have some depth and a possibly a QB to get it done. Burrow & Giles/Marshall might have lightning in a bottle here.

I’m still in wait and see mode with the OL. However, the DL gets me very excited.

I’ve said this for years, depth on the line especially the D line is crucial for success. Especially in the SEC. You can get by with mediocre QB play if you have a good O line too though. Call me crazy I don’t think this season will be as bad as everyone thinks

Depth compared to last year is night and day. It is a fact that the depth is better on both sides. It is not known how dominant they can/will be.

Agreed. I can add that it is crucial even out of the SEC, aka Troy...

I agree, I'm not sold on the OL yet, but I am pretty confident in this years D line if they can stay healthy. It is nice to not be thin there for once.

To be honest, I feel like you never really paid any attention to the depth/numbers on the line, nor how they got there or the timing involved with it, until you heard that narrative spun up on 9/16/17.

But if I’m wrong I look forward to your in depth break down.

Lost me here. No valid excuse for losing to Troy. Only explanation is getting out-coached, out-prepared, overall outplayed

Look at all the close games vs Bama that we lost. Its not because of skilled players its about the lines. Thats what has seperated us since 2011. Orgeron said he plans to have a rotation on the D Line and we have atleast 7 o lineman that could start with depth behind them. Thats why i wasnt disappointed with this years draft class because he addressed the trenches. Defensive push translates to interceptions and sacks. The OLine is the wheels of the team.

I agree. Not to sound arrogant but even our 3rd strings should be able to sneak out with a win against a good Troy team. Over the years we’ve had scares and so have other major programs but you don’t go out and get dominated like we did.

Depth is great but we still need the star linemen to stay healthy.

We need the line to stay healthy all season.

I lost you at the fact that we couldnt stop them on the ground? I accept your logic and raise you with intelligence.

Edit: If you forgot, we gave up 200+ yards on the ground and suffered with time of possesion because it. Offensive coaching aside, you cant tell me that us rotating 4 guys at 3 spots wasnt an issue. And if you think it was coaching, go ahead and say Aranda needs to go. You are stupid.

I agree with what you’re trying to say, but depth really wasn’t an issue for the Oline until last spring

Great pretty uneasy about the RB’s and CB’s though.

4 guys playing 3 spots for most of the game.

DLine is ridiculously deep. OL is still a question mark.
