This poll is all about winning conference championships--USC 10 and Oklahoma 6.

This clown fails to talk about Florida's two BCS championships and being favored for their third this decade.

He also falis to talk about LSU's two BCS championships. He does talk about Saban's BCS championship and Miles BCS championship, but can't bring himself to add 1 + 1 = 2 LSU BCS championships.

So far, Florida and LSU lead with 2 BCS championships, with Florida in a slight lead being the favorite to win their their third, but this is too obvious for his poll.

No, they were not. USC would have easily beaten either OU or LSU that year

They had to use trick plays to beat an overated Mich team in the Rose Bowl.

LSU only ended up being ranked #1 in the coach's poll because the system required coaches to vote for the winner of the BCS championship game

Typical Ole Miss stupidity!!!!

Poo. "BCS, BCS, BCS"--y'all's favorite chant....understandably so, I guess

Consider this, though. LSU lost at least 3 games in 6 of the last 10 seasons and only once did you lose fewer than 2.

Does that sound like a "dominant" program to you or one that deserves a ranking higher than #5?

Puh....leez......

BC, first off I agree with your comments about Florida and LSU. However, only 9 seasons have passed in what the NCAA terms a decade (0-9). Therefore 'SC hasn't won ten PT titles in the current decade. And If my feeble memory serves they had a losing season in 2000 and a mediocre season in '01. So the most PT titles this decade so far would be 7, still a great accomplishment. I would say that if 'SC swapped places with Fl, LSU, OU, OSU and TX, the number of conference titles for most of them would be similar. Heck, USC's best team, talent-wise so far in the decade lost to TX. Through nine seasons thus far I would rank Florida, LSU and USC in a virtual dead heat for team of the decade with OU,OSU and TX right behind them. The team out of that group that finishes the highest this season, the last year of the decade, should wear that mythical crown IMHO.

You have a bad memory. USC dominated that game from start to finish in all facets.

Didn't Lienart score on a trick play????? And yes USC dominated them but only won 28-14. Take away the Lienart play and it was only 21-14. Against a very slow overated UM team.

Dennis must be out of his ever loving mind.

USC at #1.... Cool

OU at #2... BS

Texas at #3... BS

LSU and Florida should be ahead of both of them.

Four National Championships between both UF and LSU, two a piece, and OU and Texas have combined for what, 2 over the decade at one a piece?

No freaking way.

1) USC
2) UF
3) LSU
4) OU
5) Texas

Now that's honest

Call me Bias,
1) LSU , 1st to win 2 BCS Crystal Balls
2) UF , 2nd to win 2 BCS Crystal Balls
3) OU , for most appearances despiting losing most 1-3, not getting into if deserved in 03 lol
4) UT , for at least Beating the team thats below them
5) USC, IF HAD TO CHOOSE #5, because of their lack of conference competition facing no defense basically , and constantly playing a lousy BIG 10 conference in bowls

I call you an idiot for having USC #5. You choose UT 4 because they beat UT, but ignore the whipping USC put on Oklahoma.

Also, look at LSU's BCS bowl wins:

Illinois (USC also blew out Illinois)
Oklahoma (USC also beat them in a bowl game - another blowout)
ND - (USC pretty much blows them out every year)
Ohio State - (USC blew them out as well and has whipped Michigan 2x, Iowa 1x and Penn St. 1x).

The two crystal balls for LSU is impressive, but don't act like LSU is facing better competition in their bowl games.

The score was 28-7 late into the game. Yes, he scored on a trick play which is much different than saying they needed trick plays to win. USC was moving the ball very effectively, so it's misleading to suggest that USC "needed" trick plays to win. It was simply a good call that put USC up 28-7.

Consider this, though. LSU lost at least 3 games in 5 of the first 9 seasons of the current decade playing in the toughest conference in the nation but have gone 7-2 in bowl games, 3 of 3 in BCS bowl games. They've won or tied for 5 SEC West titles, played in 4 SECCGames ,winning three and 2 BCSNC. They've handled my precious rebels 7 of 9 times. Yes they have indeed been quite dominant thus far in the decade in spite of losing fewer than 2 only once.

NO, he fixed it to reflect just how dominant LSU has been, and what he said was FACT. I know you don't like it, but might as well get used to it.

LOL NJReb. Nothing but the facts. Ole Mrs actually plays the Tigers tougher year in and out than about 8 of the other SEC schools.

Is Oregon State the team of the decade in College Baseball? Very similar scenario to Florida in football. Yes they have won 2 out of 3, but a decade is 10 years and they sucked half of those years.

not very similar, UF was pretty damn good in the early 2000's
