I still don't understand what has changed so much in the past 3-4 days when all the conferences were announcing schedules? If they had no intention of playing this season, why go through all the process of putting a schedule together?

Dumb Trev just inadvertently explained a big reason why the colleges will cancel: none of them want to be on the hook for a lifetime of medical problems that Ole Trev's lawyer will surely hit them for should he test positive during the season. Players who test positive will see their potential draft status impacted thus lowering their future earning potential.

No one to blame now if you catch it on your own. Be careful watch you wish for.

[EDIT: Why the downvotes? This is exactly the thinking by the universities, not mine. I didn't want this to happen although it was entirely predictable.]

Good luck getting anyone to donate to TAF this year.

This is going to burst the bubble of college athletics. The whole thing is gonna crash.

What’s safer? Having power 5 college football players play 10 games this Fall with COVID? Or have them play 10 games in the spring (COVID will still be here) and then turn around and play another 12 game schedule that Fall (COVID will still be here)?

The “player safety” angle is bullshite... asking them to play 22+ games in a 12 month period is much more dangerous for these players than COVID. COVID isn’t going to just disappear in 2021, we have to live with this shite and live our lives. 18-23 year old athletes in fantastic cardiovascular shape aren’t the ones dying for this virus.

One can only hope so. Maybe out of the smoking crater we'll see a return to true amateur athletics. Academics might even matter at universities again. One can only hope so.

Agreed.

I hope TAF doesn't receive a single penny.

I know TD loves Delly, but him and many others like him can’t wait to say “ I told you so.” Many of them have displayed an attitude of condescension.

Postponing until the spring won’t change anything. This virus is not going anywhere. They can only kick the can down the road so far before they seriously cripple the majority of these universities and athletic programs
A vaccination is expected to be available at some point. The can only has to go so far.

Sure, people have only been waiting for a flu vaccine for 70 years. Any day now.

You assume we will have enough dosages. And that People will even be willing to take it.
