Last night, and his Mississippi 5A play is worth revisiting.

Bama stole Devonte Smith from LSU's backyard, and LSU steals Deion Smith from Ole Miss and Miss State country.

This kid looks special.

I think all five true freshman receivers will be special.

If LSU can ever get the OL and the running game going, they have a good chance to be really good for the remainder of the season.

Jackson Academy isn’t really known for producing D1 football talent. Hell there aren’t any academy schools in Mississippi that regularly produce that talent. They are MAIS 6A. Not the same as public 6A

Rooting for this kid big time

Always felt that he should have been a 5-star, but he was the highest ranked of our highly touted group, although he, Hilton, and BTJ were all grouped close together rankings. Has everything that is needed to be a star, starting with great hands and the ability to go get contested balls. He showed out last night with some of those catches and zero drops. Don’t think we will see many drops between he and Bech during their time at LSU.

He only played at Ja because of covid. He came from Provine and his lol bro went back to Provine.

Group 1
- Boutte
- Bech
- Smith (has earned more playing time for sure)

Group 2 (new comers but unproven)
- Thomas (looks the part but need more playing time
- Nabers (wild card)

Group 3
- Moore (looks good but a little awkward at times, hard to pin point)
- Lee (solid but limited ceiling, imo, he had a good game)
- Hilton (seems to need more time get strength)

Group 4 or heading to the bench
- Jenkins (way too many drops, limited ceiling)
- Kirklin
- Palmer (limited upside)

If they can get Thomas and Nabers to make the jump to the next level, very hard to double team.

Ya know what’s crazy? Malik Nabers looked like our best receiver all fall camp and he hasn’t even gotten much shine yet. That 2021 WR class is gonna go down in the history books for the amount of talent we brought in.

He gives me some serious Justin Jefferson vibes.

Similar build and stride. Extremely light on his feet. Cuts don’t look twitchy but they work. Effortless hands.

I went to a pawn store in Jackson a year so ago wearing some LSU gear. Smith's cousin was working there and talked for an hour about how special Deion is as a person and a player. Said LSU got a superstar and it sure looked like the makings of one Saturday night.

Can we let him return punts too? Palmer isn’t doing too stellar there either

That was his coming out party. He better be on the field for every play.
