Defense wasn’t as great tonight but SC had one field goal in the final 7:47 of the game

And it was a cheap end of the game dunk. Difference in the game down the stretch was LSU d’ing up.
There’s a big difference in this team and Will Wade’s first three.

Part of our problem in the first half was turnovers. We put ourselves in terrible positions defensively.

LSU ended the game on a 21-8 run in the final 7:47 and it would have been worse if the tech isn’t called.

Now if only they had played defense from the start, we might not have had to sweat through our shirts to beat a crappy team.
But, yes, the end of game defense was better.

Yeah tonight was ugly but we were good down the stretch.

And as bad as LSU was in the 1st half with free throws shooting 60% for the half, they finished at 75% for the game on 32 attempts. That was the difference in the game.

Finally wore 'em down.
You could tell the look on Cam's Face, the same expression as always....he was going not going down like that

frick that guy and his stupid nonsense.
Smart killed it in the second half when we needed him to.
Tigers hung around and got it done in the end.
I'll take this ugly win all day.
Tigers win! Geaux Tigers!

It seemed to me very obvious right from the start the team did not play with near the energy it had the last two games.
At the first time out I was in the upper deck across the court and could hear WW screaming at them in the huddle about just standing around, but with much more colorful adjectives.
It honestly took over 30 minutes to start playing with that energy they had been. If they do that against Bama they will get crushed Tuesday.
Other than the energy and focus, I think we also need to be a bit less ISO oriented on offense. We all complain about the offense yet, before the game we were 7th in the country in offensive efficiency, so there's something to be said for whatever the appearances to the naked eye, it is working.
But it is a bit maddening at times when our top 3 scorers get the ball and you know they have no intention of passing. That's a trend that teams will take advantage of down the road.
Watford had 9 assists in one game earlier this year and has shown the ability to be a good facilitator but he's all but abandoned that the last two games. Smart had 6 assists a couple of games back. I think we need to get a bit of that back in the mix, then it will be a bit easier to get true ISO drives and looks down the road.
