Defense Problems need to be addressed

Ok, I know that a bunch of Aranda fans are going to jump my case, But, I'm very disappointed in the play of the defense over the last couple of years. We are seeing third and longs converted by everyone. They are missing coverage assignments, they are leaving their lanes, missing tackles, loosing focus and allowing huge plays.
Now some are going to say that it was against Alabama, but let's look back for the last 2 years and we keep seeing the same problems against EVERY team!
I was thrilled to death when Coach O went out an addressed our problem on offense, but now something has to be done on defense. We need changes now if we are going to win a championship and we will really need a good defense next year when Joe Burrow is not around to carry the team.

D’Eriq King gonna be running the offense next year. It’s gonna be fine.

We really shouldn’t have allowed a point in the entire 1st half yesterday. With the punt return and the bs Stingley play.
Once Harris started running the ball with authority, their offense became really though to stop.
I thought they did fairly well.

The third and long’s are a major problem.

You people are simply the worst

A) we need to get some depth on defense because the main problem is them wearing down which causes the majority of the problems. That should be mostly fixed with this recruiting class.
B) besides the man coverage on th TD at the end can you point to where Arandas play calling was poor in the game?
C) goes back to A but we need better pass rushers and d linemen so we aren't having to sacrifice an extra lb or safety when we want to pressure the qb.
But most importantly...

a few yrs ago very few of our opponents were lining up 5 wide on these plays. Now everybody is.
Our lack of pass defense on these plays though is mostly due to little to no pass rush. Believe it or not Bama has the same problem. 80% of their sacks have been by LBs and DBs. So when you drop 7-8 and rush the rest and they get zero pressure we get picked apart.

Coming into the game this weekend LSU was in the top 10 nationally in 3rd and 7 or better and in 3 and outs. You guys take a play or 2 and turn it into the norm. Our D gave up 34 points to Alabama, almost all of that after we had at least 4 guys go down and 2 TDs off of fluke plays. Clemson’s great DC has given up 40 or better 2/3 times to Bama Aranda has never, yal need to learn football.

The running with authority really ticks me off. This 3-4 front has been soft against the run and cannot get a pass rush. This has been a recurring problem since Aranda got here and it has not improved. Dammit Man, do something to correct it. Would love to see some 4-2-5 or something to take back the line of scrimmage. The front 3 has been giving a lot of effort, but it sometimes look like they are getting out-numbered and not getting help.

I'm 65 years old born in Louisiana and I have been a huge LSU fan my whole life. It is tough being in Alabama the last few years. I'm not some Johnny come lately fan and all I have to say is that some of you guys need to take off your purple and gold blinders and see that we have a very serious problem with the defensive coaching. Some of you Aranda sunshine pumpers were the ones raising hell about Chavis and the Miles Offense. Now,I see this defense turning in the same direction! P.S. I wonder if Papa Burrow might come out of retirement. If he is as tough as Joe, it might be fun!!

Cool. You're still dumb with this take.

It is impossible to hold that offense for so long. They are too good to be completely shutdown. I was actually very impressed in our defense. We absolutely shut them down in the first half and I was not expecting that at all. The thing was, that’s all we needed from our defense was that dominating first half.
All the talk about Aranda all season long is horseshite. He’s a great DC and arguably the best in college football. I’m not going to question him or the defense anymore unless we just absolutely shite the bed. Last nights performance by them was absolutely brilliant! In Aranda I trust!

Our run defense has been in and around the top 5 nationally all season long. You’re way off with this take. Look we have glaring personnel holes and depth issues, if you can’t tell the difference in play when our best 11 is out there co pared to when they’re not you’re not paying attention. Some people just wanna jump at the first coach they see instead of watching what’s actually happening.

Without a fluke punt return and trick play to get our dB looking at our coaches...Bama would have had maybe 3 pts in the 1st half. I’m saying 3 pts because Tua fumbled without being touched.

I thought the absence of Michael Divinity hurt the pass rush and against the run. Still, LSU was just a couple of mental errors away from a twenty-point laugher.

The mistakes on D are overwhelmingly player caused. But we can’t say that because it’s a recruiting issue. Typical Rant hypocrisy.

Folks, come back down to earth. There were huge holes, long runs, wide open 60+ yard pass plays all over the field. Najee Harris ripped us all night. If our offense had not been so great, this would have been a huge defeat. Wake up????? Look at the games this year and tell me how many times has our defense let the other team back into games? This should scare any sane football fan.
