Defense, just the stats

First of all, they were 3/10 on 3rd down. Limiting their TOP to 22 minutes.
Gave up 403 yards
234 passing
169 rushing
Forced 1 turnover (points)
Forced 1 punt.
They missed 3 field goals which I akin to stops.
24 total points (7 were really late and almost felt like garbage time)

I think the most important stats arnt yards but turnovers, 3rd down conversion, essentially how many stops the D got. As we have shown we can score almost every possession.

It was better (all things considered). But we are still completely lost on 75% of long pass plays. And for the love of God, can we please learn how to cover a tight end within 20 yards?

2-3 occasions where guys were running wide open where QB couldn’t see them. Add 100 yards and 10 points with better QB play.

Ypc should concern all lsu fans. Harris was 12 for 126. Muschamp is an idiot. Should have been 24 for 250.

I mean... to an extent. If you give up 5+ YPP that usually is going to coincide with bad overall defensive stats. There’s a reason for that. We gave up about 8 YPP. Don’t let the landslide W fool you... that is not good defense.

I think that’s pretty fair to say. Defense is about adjustments more than ever now and Aranda was very good at making adjustments. People were crazy to think we were taking a step up in hiring Pelini.
