What’s different that would prevent you from using that type of D? Again it’s a proportion argument, yes we’re not going to give up 11ppg but giving up 18-21 wins those games.

but yes I was naming players that played over a 3 game span over 3 seasons, and I agree with the previous poster that depth of talent-wise '13 was weakest but I look at that roster and still see more depth on that one

But we saw very positive results and limited plays when we went man or brought pressure on Saturday. When we played soft in the 1st half we gave up 298 yards, 7-9 on 3rd down and stayed on the field for more plays. Playing the way we did exposes depth more than the way we defended the mobile QB mentioned in the OP. Again if your backend guys can hold up you can do it which is why I asked the first question, “has anybody gotten behind our secondary yet?”

I am definitley not defending playing soft coverage like we did in the 1st half, at least not playing it as long as we did, I do think it helped a bit in the 2nd half with ole miss being less prepared for the adjustment after half
However, the sacrifice of waiting to adjust so late was not worth it.

Ok, so we know that a mobile, accurate passer will carve us up like a baked chicken if use soft coverage on receivers and rush primarily 3 or 4.
