Tried searching for earlier posting but unsuccessful

The early ones were awarded by individuals years after the games were played. These weren’t consensus polls but NCs awarded by people that had their own formula for determining champions. Some NCs were given before bowl games that Bama lost

When you understand this, then you begin to understand why they think they won on Nov 5th
Delusion born from years back and continues to this day.

Actually, they claim 13. Has anyone else picked up that this is the number on the helmet they use for logos, memorabilia, and even the ESPN set?
Check the tape - they had #12 up to and including the BCSCG against Texas. After that they changed to 13.
I think it's a subtle reminder of their history, which is impressive by anyone's standards - but it's also a reminder of the sense of entitlement their fans have.

A lot of it isn't even not caring. It's simple ignorance or a belief that other fanbases are trying to tear them down. My brother in law is a bama fan and he's just an ignorant SOB. You try to tell him about the BS titles and he just goes off about people being jealous and the Bear and such.
I'm glad I got my wife out of there when I did before he tried to frick her. Luckily she's a good bit older than the bastard.
Are you picking up on the vibe that I don't like my brother in law?

1941 National Championship- This is a complete joke. The AP ranked Alabama 20th in the nation with 14 teams with better records in the top 20. Once again it is the Football Thesaurus that retroactively awards it. Alabama finished 3rd in the SEC that year. Mississippi State won the SEC title..yet Bama claims a National title!

1973 National Championship- AP puts Bama 4th after their bowl game loss. Bama claims a NC from the UPI poll that was taken before they met Notre Dame in the bowl game and lost. There were 3 teams with better records than Bama that year. The embarrassment of naming Alabama number one caused the UPI to name champions after bowl games. Yet Bammer has no shame in claiming it of course.

Take away 1941 & 1973, and give them 1966 & 1977 (which is fair), and they still have 13. I've got no problem with the total # of Bama's claimed NCs, even if I think the particular years they choose to claim are remarkably odd in at least one case.

Does this have to be posted every day from now until eternity?
Also, they claim 13 now.

1966 should need no explanation.
1977 is more subjective, but then again, for those who don't like the idea of Bama claiming a '77 title over Notre Dame, at least they have a major poll ranking them #1 from 1973.

FWIW, here are a couple of funny scores from 1977...
Sept. 17, Ole Miss (5-6) 20, Notre Dame (11-1) 13 (in Jackson) LINK
Sept. 10, Alabama (11-1) 34, Ole Miss (5-6) 13 (in Birmingham) LINK
By the way, Alabama's loss was 24-31 to a (9-3) Nebraska team in Lincoln. It also occurred on Sept. 17. It was a judgment call for the polls, but I see how Bama could legitimately claim that year similar to the way Ole Miss claims 1960 & 1962, and programs like Georgia & Tennessee claim NCs that are far worse.

any claimed title pre 1936 is not legit IMO.
AP UPI BCS (and FWAA for Ole Miss and Hog fans)
Bama has 8 legit titles

I think pre-1936 title claims are legit--they are just "mythical national championships." The term MNC does not make sense for any title claim after 1935. They are disputed, but not mythical.

Lol...these days I'm a surgeon, but yeah I get your point. I apologize for my angst, but seriously....seems like we've covered this, and why doesn't lsu count all of their titles, and innumerable other BS topics this week...I'm just ready for some real conversation

Agreed, and I have come to the conclusion that there is a mission Bama fans share. It is an unspoken code of conduct which must be obeyed lest one is not considered a true Bama fan. It is this: It is not just permissible to act like arrogant a**holes and disrespect all other fans and their schools and make nonsensical, delusional boasts, IT IS A DUTY TO INFURIATE OTHERS. The less sense a Bama fan makes and the more infuriating a Bama fan becomes, the more that fan is looked up to by his brethren as upholding this BAMA CODE OF CONDUCT.
Next time you are frustrated with trying to talk rationally with a Bama fan, or angered by their supremely arrogant attitude just remember they are duty bound to uphold the Bama code of conduct. Even if they don't really believe what they are telling you.
Also, trying to reason with a Bama fan is like trying to teach a pig to sing. It will frustrate the heck out of you, and it irritates the pig.
