Germans yo, but 11/5/22 was basically the loudest CFB game of all time - in the era of dBs being recorded the highest ever was Husky stadium in 92 vs Nebraska at 133.6.

Death Valley registered 133 dBs & another earthquake. Previously, Neyland held the second spot registering in the 120s.

All the ghosts were in attendance this past Saturday. For all the talk of the fanfare being dead post-Covid… this means more than it typically would.

Kudos Tiger fans

The advantage of a true nightgame in Death Valley is why there are not too many on schedule, SEC knows this and schedules accordingly

don't they have a metal roof over the stands?

Yep. Designed to keep the noise in. I wouldn't want to be in Death Valley if they added something to retain the noise.

It’s not a “roof” but close to it.

Also Idk what the stakes were in that Nebraska game but I’ll openly laugh in the face of anyone suggesting .6 (probably within a reader’s margin of error) outweighs the difference between Washington/Nebraska (even in 92) vs LSU’s 1st year head coach pimp slapping their former one in a divisional rivalry game to essentially decide the west coming off back to back losing seasons.

That’s either BS or piped in music ala arrowhead.

I don’t think anyone realizes how loud 140 actually is — Automatic hearing damage immediately.

Also, if I’m wrong congrats to them — but destroys the general narrative in CFB even more if top 2 records broken 3 times in 1 month (including Neyland vs Bama in October)

DV is way more intimidating than Huskie Stadium

it helps to make it louder...funneling the sound to the field. I seriously doubt the noise level throughout a game in Huskie Stadium could rival us.

Conflicting reports, 110 - 130. Consensus is that the quake was caused by stomping feet in the bleachers rather than noise — but I wish we had a definitive number.

Great piece of Death Valley history regardless.

It's all bullshite - poorly calibrated meters being poorly handled. Meter placements being radically different. Just a bunch of crap to make breathless headlines.
