LSU would have had a top 5 defense last year if he was an absolute genius.

He's good but there are better. Pump the brakes people.

Does Aranda have a PR guy or is this another Rant creation?

can you imagine the conversations he has with Ed O?

it would be like a Rhodes Scholar having a discussion with a 5th grade jock

i can't imagine Aranda sees O as close to his equal and almost assuredly he sees O as a vast inferior in terms of coaching

IT'S GOING TO BE INTERESTING

Aranda has talked at length about how he still reviews the notes he took while attending a coaches clinic at USC that was put on by Coach O. He said he uses a lot of the things he learned.

I'm not going to search for it since I'm watching the LSU baseball game. But it shouldn't be hard to find if you are so inclined.

yeah i'm sure he's taken notes on all sorts of things over the years that have value

Ed O has been a complete failure at anything above positional coach/recruiter and interim HC for half a season

he took over the D at Ole Miss during his tenure and it somehow got worse

You guys need to understand that most of the real football geniuses are not head coaches they are coordinators. The OC and DCs are free to just work on schemes and players on their side of the ball. They don't have to deal with politics, press, alumni or all the other bullshite. just football.

That is the one geat thing that O has done and maybe learned from ole miss disaster. You hire great minds, get them the Joe's they want and let them deal with x and o's. That is also the reason that Miles is gone. He failed to do that on offensive said of the ball

He didn't have the horses on the interior dline. When that gets fixed, it's over. His defense was significantly better than Chavis and Steele's the two years prior.

National defensive ranking are a function of several factors, schedule, the offenses TOP, injuries, holes in the roster, DC/scheme.

any more aboves? Yeah, took over a 4-11 USC team and went 5-2 including beating the #4 ranked team in the country. Took over LSU and with a TE's coach running the offense and set 3 all-time LSU offensive records.

No, let's just hold what he did last decade against him. Search the Aranda stuff, it's his own words.

I think Aranda is at LSU because of Coach O just like Austin Thomas.

Austin got his first college football job at Tennessee while Coach O was there. He left Tennessee when Coach O left. Guess where he went? Yep, USC. Guess when he left USC? When Coach O left. Guess where he wound up after USC? Yep, LSU. Before Coach O even got here.

You think Les Miles was smart enough to hire Dave Aranda or Austin Thomas? Who knew Austin Thomas and Dave Aranda from past experience that was even remotely associated with LSU? Yep, you guessed it, so I don't even have to type his name again, but you know who it is.

it's not just ole miss

after ole miss, he was nothing more than a DL/recruiter and didn't sniff even terrible HC jobs he applied for

what makes you think this? les hired Aranda

and what history do Aranda and O have?

Les, for all of his faults, is a vastly superior coach and admin than Orgeron (coming from one of the biggest Les haters on this board)

You replied to my fricking post above. Look with your eyes and not your fricking mouth or fingers in this case. Search and you shall find. I am watching the game.

Les Miles hired Cam Cameron and would have stuck with him even now if Les was still employed by LSU. Nuff said. Wasn't it Les that had the co-defensive coordinators that turned out to be the greatest defense ever? Yes it was, Doug Mallory and Bradley Dale Peveto were the best hires/promotions EVER. Coach O would be down right lucky to even blindly stumble into a move like that.

Like I said, you think it was Les's idea to hire Austin Thomas and Dave Aranda? Without input from somebody we all know?
