I would absolutely love to have aranda as HC. Who ever it is if we go get one I want a defensive head coach and a decent OC
This is just dumb. I don’t even understand the logic behind this.
It makes way more sense to hire head coach to run offense and pair them with good DC’s. LSU can pay a good DC top dollar to stick around longer.
The other way around, you will have to constantly be replacing OC’s after one good season. Good offensive minds are the most sought-after commodity in football.

I agree. Dave Aranda is my first choice. He's going to make sure that everything is done and done well. He's smart, hardworking, and has good attention to detail. He's the CEO that you want. The team and coaches will be prepared. Aranda will give us long term stability instead of the chaos we've been having.
He might not be the greatest recruiter in the world, but recruiting will be fine if the staff is good at it. LSU is going to get the lion share of the LA talent as it always does. Things will also improve as the product stays consistently high.
As far as coordinators, Herman got his shot at HC and got brought back down to Earth. Those HC ambitions might be squelched enough that he might stay for a longtime. Regardless of who becomes OC, we need to do what Bama does and have our next OC already hired as shadow staff. That way they know the offense and can step in without missing a beat, making small changes to suit their style rather than a complete makeover every few years.

I could be convinced to hire Briles as head coach.
He’s as qualified as Lincoln Riley and Ryan Day when they were hired.
Not my first choice, but I could get there.
It would be a serious Black Hat move but who cares if we win.
Someone will eventually do it and score a million points and win a lot of gamesa

The downvotes are stupid. If they actually announced this, the entire rant would absolutely cream itself.

Seems to be working out pretty well in Tuscaloosa.
