If a LSU scholarship athlete desires to smoke weed above playing for LSU, and receiving a full scholarship, they should be released. If any player puts their personal desires and/or preference above the team, that selfish attitude will have negative impacts to the team chemistry.

Compliance is filled with a bunch of typical vindictive Karen morons who use “doing their job” as an excuse to hurt people and screw kids over. It’s a power trip and we have a no-firing policy in Louisiana so they just sit there and collect their checks year after year for being terrible fricking people
The Compliance Karen's are a bunch of racists!
Now we can fire them

He was let go because he knowingly violated a team policy and broke the law.

LSU’s players don’t smoke weed more than any other school.
I'd like to see what data you have to make this assertion.
But back to the first point. He risked his playing time as a Tiger by knowingly breaking a well established rule as well as the law. You are deflecting blame from his conscious decision back on to LSU. He made a choice.

The dude didn’t just get offered weed he failed into the teens drug test. But don’t let facts get in your way. He choose weed over football and his team. FACTS.

I really don’t give a damn about whether players are smoking weed or not if they can stay a step ahead of compliance. I care that they keep their asses on the fricking field. I would love to see compliance forced to change, but until that happens, the rules are what they are. Everything else is just noise.
frick Dare for getting busted, but even more so for then being a fricking baby about it and leaving. He’s nothing but Tiger Bait now. I hope we beat his arse blue for a boatload of sacks and TFLs in a few weeks.

As usual, most of the most outrageous comments originate from fans who never attended a class at LSU. They don’t understand that the actual alumni value the character, integrity, and academic standing of our university. They would just as soon have 11 criminals on the field for LSU. Some very famous athletes have been removed from the team in the past for violations of the law, and the “team protocols ”. Therefore, if a recruit is considering LSU, he needs to study its history. Even a great player like Tyrann Mathieu ( Honey Badger ) sadly discovered if he needed to break the law and the rules of the team, he needed to go elsewhere. And your weed smoking, uncoachable lineman, was certainly no Tyrann Mathieu.

Smoking anything will have negative effects on your athletic performance much less something as damaging as weed. Educated people used to know this.
The fact this stupid shite got 89 upvotes is scary

We needed the depth. Shame on LSU
I understand the general sentiment here means the downvotes are coming, but honestly ... shame on Dare. He knew the policy. It wasn't a surprise. And he knew his status on the team and how important he was to this season. He made a choice to put his habits above his team and it cost him. Sucks, and yeah it'd be great if the policy were different, but the shame is squarely on Dare and not on LSU in this case. Just my two cents.

Just because a bunch of hippies started smoking back in the 60’s, then those stupid hippies grew into MSNBC journalists and your libtard clown politicians and your woke Women’s Studies “professors” who shove the “it’s juuuuust weeed, maaan!” rhetoric down the gullet of anyone dumb enough to listen to their load of drivel doesn’t make weed any less of a harmful drug. I mean, just look at those idiot people… they are CLEARLY fried, deranged, and couldn’t make one fully functional brain between the lot of them. You wanna be like THEM???

Agreed it’s not the point of a teeneager smoking weed. I could care less. It’s the point he was giving countless times to just stop to pass a test and he couldn’t, wouldn’t or whatever. That’s choosing weed over your team and the sport.
