Because Miles knows absolutely nothing about football or his own defense.

McCray had a damn shot in his league and was taking medicine he was so hurt in the Auburn game and Chad Jones doesn't know the damn coverages enough to even understand the plays going on.

Whatever the reason, the common denominator in most big plays the Tigers give up is #44, he shows up in the bottom of the screen right about the time the opponent crosses the goalline.

We are chock full of fast DBs that should/could do a better job than McCray in coverage.

I would never expect miles to trash one of his players in public nor should he. i am bothered about the defensive issues getting swept under the rug. We have had the same major problem for over a year and we can't seem to get it corrected. I have a feeling if pitt doesn't beat west virginia most people's attitude about would be different.

I keep going back to 06 when Francis and McCray split time at the NB with Francis playing more against passing teams (see the Sugar Bowl). I think they never quite got comfortable with anyone of the other CBs last year playing that role but we're seeing it come around again with Phelon.

It was interesting to read about Chad Jones saying that he also plays NB, I thought he was strictly the dimeback and backup SS. Remember when McCray was out for the 2nd game and Miles was asked whether they'd shift Jones over, he said that he just liked to move guys up on the depth chart rather than put them at another position they're not that familiar with and then have the backup dimeback in as well as Chad "out of position" at NB. But if Chad's playing NB as well (per his own comments), maybe they're trying to shift him around to account for McCray's shortcomings (not that I would want Chad on a slot WR either).

Miles better not mean that (assuming he actually said what you claim he said).

If Miles admires a guy, he overlooks the obvious at the teams detriment. McCray seems to fit that best.

So McCray is forced to go in and what happens, touchdown.

McCray is not the problem, the coaches putting him against guys he can't cover is the problem. McCray should only be on the field in obvious run coverage situations. Florida will eat him alive.

if everyone watching LSU can tell that McCray has some serious matchup problems, why don't the coaches?

McCray can cover anyone if he has help over the top!

Do we really know it was McCray on those plays? I guess I don't know the defenive scheme, or the call at the time to say.

If you guys think McCray is the only problem with our defense, you are insane.

You can bet your arse that Meyer is gonna zero in on him. This really concerns me because it looks like it's gonna take a loss to get the coaches to make some adjustments. If picking on McCray works for UF, you know that Spurrier will follow suit.
