It is fair to question whether some of those deep balls he completed v. The Mocs would be possible (or even picked) against SEC defensive backs. But it's also valid to question whether Etling would try those throws. He's pretty smart and doesn't turn the ball over

This. Those passes could've been picked pretty easily.

However, Etling has not given us any reason to think he's gonna throw a bunch of ints. He's pretty cautious with the ball.

Just don't count on completing those type of passes.

Etling has been really good on play action and has delivered it well with clean pockets.

The reason I'm not over the moon is because he has not been that accurate on designed roll outs and when he has been pressured off his desired spot/platform.

Obviously most QB would struggle when pressured, but if you wanna win the big games you have to be accurate when forced to move off your spot.

Etling could throw for 425 yds and 4 TD passes against Auburn or Alabama and our fans still wouldn't give Etling much credit.

Yeah.. I don't think that's true.

We haven't played a team with a pulse yet.

Heard the same thing last year. Apparently Bama is the only team with a pulse.

Stephen Sullivan would have caught that against anyone. It was on target just towards two defenders. Etling knew who he was throwing to and he gambled. At worst it's like a punt at best it's a Td. He made the catch so all was good. Drake Sullivan both can go up and get it. I don't mind Etling taking some chances on 50/50 balls
