Excellent thread. I said a little prayer for Dandy and his wife this am after reading today's column. Happy to be able to express my sentiments here as well.

Don and I sat together in the pressbox one Spring Game at LSU, that evening I had a couple tickets in the grandstand for the baseball game and invited him to sit with me.

I see and talk with him at every LSU Football Bash. His site is also in my favorites. I will say that when I give him info., it goes with him and stays. If I tell him to keep it between us, he will not post it.

He is the best at what he does. He and his family are always in our prayers...

Although I no longer read his site, for a long time it was the only place I turned to for LSU sports updates when there wasn't many places out there to turn. Event though I have not sent many he has always responded to my emails and seems to be a great guy. My prayers are with his family.

God Bless You Dandy Don God will see you through just keep the faith. We all here at the Rant are praying for your wife to have a speedy recovery. Dandy Don was my first recruiting board and then he recommended me go to Max Emfingers post for the details in recruiting. I have been reading them both for at least ten years and recieved Maxs recruiting log for a long time until I could read him on the net.

God Bless you and your Wife Dandy Don!

Was this really necessary?

I live in Maryland and never really got good, or any, LSU info. Then I came across Dandy Don's site. He's made me feel close from so far away. My prayers are with you and your family.

I really feel we all benefit from Dandy's time and effort he puts in to his site, so I just wanted to give him a big thanks from Tiger Nation and let him know he is in our thoughts.

Man do I echo this sentiment. So many of the members here constantly do nothing but critize Dandy Don, Hawthorne and other loyal Tiger loyalists who sacrifice so much for their team/school loyalty. Prayers for DD and his family.

You people that so are so quick to critize over a mis-spelling or type will miss these peole's contribution when they're gone. You should make such a contribution as these folks...

hey guys, i'm dandy's grandson. i signed up just for this thread.

you know, usually when someone tells me there's a thread on my pawpaw i just ignore it because of... well you all probably know why. i just want to say a couple of things about this.

first of all thank all of you for all the kind words and thoughts and prayers. it's weird watching my mawmaw go through this and even weirder that it's public knowledge, but it means a lot.

second, someone asked what she has. she has a combination of things. she has parkinsons and dimentia.

someone also said something about her accepting jesus and i think they'd be happy to know she was an ordained catholic chaplain for most of my 26 years.

anyway, i don't plan on posting much here because i don't want my opinions to get confused with my pawpaw's but thank you all for the nice thoughts.

Prayers made for her. May they be touched by the Holy Spirit and given strength by God the father.

God Bless.

And what if she didn't?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they have their fatih to help them through hard times. To "hope" that for her, however, implies that the suffering of "non-believers" wouldn't bother you so much. It was weird for this thread.

Thanks Dandyjohn, we appreciate your post.

Your pawpaw and mawmaw should know that there are literally thousands of Tiger fans out there that are praying for them and your family.

As true Tiger fans, they are part of the Tiger family. God bless...
