Leads SEC in total tackles 42 and solo tackles 28. Just sayin...

Next highest LSU player, Micah Baskerville with 25/12 at 16th in SEC

While tackles aren’t a great way to measure how good a player is, he’s not nearly as bad as y’all make him out to be.

It’s one good measure.

That is what I have been saying on here all season. I am not nominating him for all conference or anything but 95% of the shame heaped on him on this board is from last season. He played bad and he knew it.

He did play his best game since 2019 but that defensive scheme helped him cut down the field to minimize his mistakes. I think we see a lot more of that alignment.

Clark has been playing well and is a sure tackler.

Depends on position. My junior year in college our leading tackler for the season was our free safety. SMdH. We won one game that year.

If a linebacker isn’t the caliber of Devin White the fan base freaks out.

Him and Baskerville still need improvement, but if they keep this up and stay on pace they'll be the next LSU LB'ers playing in the NFL. And all of the LSU LB'ers are doing well in the NFL right now.

Now show us how many of those were for no gain or a loss ? He's the fricking middle LB he should be high in tackles. Did you ever think that maybe he is making all those tackles because teams are targeting him?

I saw him make a lot of tackles about 10 yards down the field after the rb or te already had a chuck of yards. I'm hard on this guy because he deserves it. he has been on this team for 5 years he should be stuffing holes and playing some decent coverage . LSU has had some good MLB's : D. White, B. James,Beckwith , Queen, minter etc.. Clark aint even in the top 15. Let the downvotes begin

That’s because offenses are running right at them, knowing that IF they make a play it’s 10 yards downfield.

He definitely got serious in the weight room this past off season. Dude looks like a brick shitehouse on the field.

And I'll be the first to admit, I've been a huge skeptic of Clark bc of how bad he's looked at times, but he has undoubtedly shown improvement this year. Once those RBs meet him 4 yards after the line, they don't get any more.

Playing linebacker these days is extrremely difficult....

Against the spread/RPO up tempo offenses, the linebacker is the target. ALways looking for a mismatch gaurding a tight end, tailback, or even a slot...and the LB is still responsible for the run as well.

Football has changed....

I honestly don't see what other ranters are complaining about.
I'm way more concerned about our offensive then him

Too bad his damage in pass coverage is worse than the positive for tackles.

Why dont you look it up and back up your poor mouthing. Another poster looked up every play he made a tackle in the UCLA game.
He found that of his 14 tackles in that game 10 of them were between -1 and 4 yds of the LOS with most within 2 yds.

Another point here is that if a player is tackling a guy 10yds down the field then it is probable that it was not the man he was responsible for. If we have a defender chasing a player 10 yds downfield and nobody else got to him before that then the other 10 SOBs on the field are worthless...
