How does he have 6 sacks as an NFL rookie and only had 4.5 in at LSU?

Shitty coaching from Brick. There was an article about him earlier this year where the Vikings coaches said he recieved little to no coaching in college.

The article exists actually, but he just wasn't taught proper technique.

quote:

"As soon as we drafted him, I made a cut-up of every single rush he had at LSU," the Vikings' defensive line coach said. "I had him come to my office, and I said, 'I want you to explain to me what you were being taught to do.' So we're sitting there, and he's explaining to me how they were teaching him to rush. Well, you run [a 40-yard dash in] 4.5 [seconds]. But you take off on the snap of the ball, and you run wide. Now, the offensive tackle just kicks back and waits on you. You might as well be running 4.9, 5-flat. And number two, I don't think he was exposed to how the offensive lineman was trying to pass protect against him. He was just out there, using his athleticism and trying to make something happen. The first thing I wanted to do was find out what he knew and why I was seeing what I was seeing."

Imagine what he would've done under Coach O and an aggressive pass rushing defense. Brick and Chavis........ Not conducive to DE sacks.

Wow!! That's pretty pathetic if true. Coach O taught more technique than that at the LSU football camp. Hard to believe Brick didn't coach some basic techniques other than 'use your speed'

I think hunter could have been a first rounder with a year under O

Just because you can't or won't read doesn't mean the article didn't exist. Bumpkin

Could have???? There is no could have, it's would have. Let me run you across some numbers this year

Lewis Neal 1st year with significant playing time - 9.5 TFL 8.0 sacks
Arden Key true freshman - 6.5 TFL 5.0 sacks

Neal is 5'11 around 250 and Key is 6'6 around 230.

The DL in sacks over the past 3 years

2015 (11 games) - 21.0 from 7 players, 13 from two players, 17 from three
2014 - 11.0 from 6 players
2013 - 14.5 from 7 players

The DL is going to be a monster next year.

This is funny. 1) he didn't post article until I called his bluff. 2) his slanted LSU-hate opinion misrepresented the article.
