LSU Players/Signees

66. Zach Watson, OF
70. Elijah Cabell, OF (TNXL Academy, Altamonte Springs, FL)
86. Jaden Hill, RHP (Ashdown HS, Ark.)
87. Zack Hess, RHP
109. Landon Marceaux, RHP (Destrehan HS, LA)
139. Antoine Duplantis, OF
183. Will Ripoll, RHP (John Curtis Christian HS, River Ridge, LA)
195. C.J. Willis, C (Ruston HS, LA)
225. Cole Henry, RHP (Florence HS, Ala.)
289. Chase Costello, RHP (Pompano Beach HS, FL)
330. Hunter Feduccia, C
465. Giovanni DiGiacomo, OF (Canterbury School, Fort Myers, FL)
475. Cam Sanders, RHP
490. Drew Bianco, SS/3B (Oxford HS, MS)

Watson is the #1 undrafted D1 college player. Hess is #3. Duplantis is #9. No other school has more than 1 undrafted returning player that highly ranked.

The only school that might have a better recruiting class is Vanderbilt who has 4 HS guys ranked in the top 71 (basically 4 of the top 8 currently undrafted players).

I’m surprised like hell that Feduccia is on that list.

On MLB's list, which only goes to 200, Watson and Hess are the only two undrafted college players in the top 100. I would think they would both come off in the next 2-3 rounds (Rounds 11-13). It will be interesting.

Why hasn't Sanders been picked up yet?

Whoever is going to take him may have wanted the $125k cushion on the bonus.

I see you posted a few times you think Willis is still a risk. Why is that? Certainly talented enough to have already been picked

It's not necessarily about talent in the MLB draft.

because:

And we don't know what his number is.

Based on actual performance and not on any "ranking", I am too.

He's still there because Catcher and his hitting last summer. The potential exists.

I mean, if we know he was playing with two broken hands, the scouts certainly know that too.

They draft off potential, talent and signability. My point is, he’s certainly gotten some phone calls, yet wasn’t drafted, so why should we feel less confident on him than Hill, Garza etc.

Project is there a point in the draft where you feel good about Cabell and Willis or is that point July 15 or a confirmation tweet or something of that nature?

I'm starting to feel better about Willis. Getting past these early day three rounds is encouraging.

Because we guess. We try to base those guesses off of rumors and articles which mean very little. Few people, even ones directly involved, always get it right.
