Considering the last stat on at bats makes a lot of sense why LSU is not higher is categories

LSU walks a ton and I wonder where LSU is on plate appearances

Our pitching stats are pretty impressive even considering the competition we have played so far. After all the hand wringing about our pitching Sat and Sun I don’t see any reason to be concerned after the first weekend of conference play.

If we stay on top of this stat, we’ll be gravy.

Furthermore, I think we’re top two in 5 critical stats that aren’t really impacted by us having fewer innings:

Offense:
#1 OBP
#2 Batting average

Defense:
#1 Fielding %
#1 Opponent batting average
#2 ERA

We are pretty fricking good. (Yes, I know some of these feed into each other, but still).

Damn, Florida has almost 100 more ABs than we do.

They have played two more full games. I’m not sure how many run rules they have had.

Surprising that Arkansas is around the middle of the pack in almost everything.

This doesn't warrant its own thread, but last night Mizzou and Kansas played in Kaufman Stadium. Jacob Hasty came in to pitch for Mizzou, but it didn't go well. He walked Luke Leto and then walked Collier Cranford. He ended up getting pulled after walking three and not recording an out.

Skewed numbers due to difference in games, but that fielding % is very impressive and great improvement for LSU and will be important going forward. Nice to see.

Yeah, felt like our hitting is better than last year but then you look around the league and everyone seems to be hitting the crap out of the ball this year.

Our bullpen was awful early in the season including giving up 18 runs to TCU so that put us in a deep hole stats-wise, but it's been a lot better lately. The top 5 pitchers are good but beyond that it's still a little scary.

1. LSU .467

This to me is the biggest stat of the bunch. Followed closely by the fact we have the 13th most (or 2nd least) at bats for the season. Our HR numbers are going to increase I do not see us finishing 8th like we are right now.
