re: Curious, why the “awe man” mentality when players leave LSU Baseball?

Literally, loyalty means committing and staying through highs and lows.
So you blame the player's loyalty if he comes to a team expected to be a starter and, after two years, still hasn't earned the spot, so he leaves for a fresh start?
Nah frick that. The player can still hold love for the school, but he also deserves to see if a change of scenery will give him a better shot at earning a pro contract.
Again, you only have 4-5 years to audition and realize the dream of making baseball your profession. It's a good thing for these players that they can change places.
Have you ever changed a job before because it offered more money?

No. Military.

No. You’re missing the point of this whole convo. Why the “awe man” mentality.” Jesus H. Why are you people, yes, “you people,” upset when mediocre players leave LSU Baseball, when we can do much better, and we get players who can make an immediate impact.

I'm not upset at all, I've been actively celebrating the departures of Coleman, Dutton and Loer.
But you're missing the point when you say NIL ruined college sports.

Thats a totally different convo. And no, you can’t change my mind. I’ve heard both sides of the argument. Both pros and cons. It’s basically the minor leagues

I'm not trying to, just pointing out that your mind has a pretty stupid point of view.

Again, it's ALWAYS been this.

Nah, it’s common sense. And if I was in the minority, I’d rethink things, and look at it differently. However, this isn’t the case.

So since the beginning of college baseball, we’ve had a transfer portal where players won’t have a holdout year and can play immediately/leave at the drop of a hat after a year because of more money thrown in their face. Nah. Disagree again. And yes, that’s exactly what I mean by minor leagues and it hasn’t always been that way

For the sake of our military, this is scary

Oh wow... you REALLY missed the point.

Doesn’t even belong in this convo. And because I have a difference of opinion and don’t believe the way you do lol? There’s a word for that.

We are discussing NIL no? Then no, I didn’t miss the point. Paying players “legal” NIL money has never been this way. Paying them illegally has happened and people got caught. Now, anyone can throw dollar signs at any player at any time and lure them away. So if that’s not what is being discussed, then please explain. Minor leagues/college baseball “has always been this way.” Thats what you said

Haha you already said you weren't changing your mind... that's like the ultimate deflection and avoidance attempt.
You're not too bright are ya, bud?

No, I’m really not. Is college ball a stepping stone to the majors, and are athletes working to get to the show? Yes. Got that. Do athletes skip college and go straight to the majors and get paid? Yes. Do college players declare for the draft early? Yes. Not what we are discussing here. We are discussing NIL and it making college sports basically the minor leagues with the shuffling of rosters year in and year out, the ability to easily jump ship (in todays game) because of a big pay day, etc. That’s what we are discussing. It’s ruining college sports and I’m standing by that.

How are you this far off the point?

There is no more loyalty in this college game. It’s about money.
The worst part about NIL is hearing how every transfer is for money. Transfers existed in baseball long before NIL. LSU isn’t losing guys to the portal for more money.

So because you can’t change my mind, we can’t have a discussion? So you question my intelligence cause I disagree in advance? Amazing conclusion

No, we can't have a discussion when you constantly respond to me with "this isn't up for discussion"
Seriously, do you realize how stupid you are sounding right now?

I’m aware players have transferred out prior to NIL. And I’m not saying every player left from LSU for more money. It does happen. There are high schoolers holding out for better NIL deals. It happens all the time

Why is that bad and how is it different than high schoolers leveraging the draft?

English. My response to you. Can’t change my mind, but where in your mind does it say I won’t discuss with you? Scroll through my comments. But again, keep responding with fluff and no point for your statement “I’m missing the point.” Pot….
