re: CST on Direct TV

I get that Cox is a big sponsor, but it sure is stupid on the part of LSU to limit its audience in such a way. Anyone in Louisiana with Directv is out. Anyone in Louisiana with Dish outside of a certain radius from Baton Rouge or New Orleans is out. Anyone with a cable system that does not offer it is out. Anyone with Uverse is out.
How the hell is that supposed to promote your brand? You want to get your product in as many homes on as many TVs as possible. Exposure, exposure, exposure. Not limit it like they are doing.
I wish they would attach themselves to a network not affiliated specifically with a cable or satellite system, but one that caters to all. Fox Sports New Orleans?
But hey - at least Cox has their name on the floor in the PMAC. Which looks tacky IMO, by the way.

I thought this was supposed to get started already? Yet, here I am in LC still stuck with fox sports houston that doesn't have any of the Houston sports teams and whose program guide is wrong half the time.

Im almost positive cox does not care ab the subscribers in Louisiana who cannot get LSU baseball games. I enjoy my suscription to COX, I get all the Rangers, Astros, Stars, LSU, Hornets/Pelicans, games along with MLB, NFL, and NBA network. IDK why people have so much problem with COX, I think it is worth the extra $$

My main reasons to have Directv:
1) NFL Ticket
2) Extra Channels to cover the 4 Golf Majors (Unbelievable how much "live" golf is really tape delayed).
3) Multiple other channels that aren't carried by cable.

I have tried watching NFL ticket at a friends house and didnt really like all the channel changing we had to do. I am much more a fan of RedZone and I already get that. RedZone is so awesome, making me anxious for fall just thinking about it

One representative! How many representatives do they have and how long do they stay in that tedious job taking calls from annoyed people? You think they remember every call? And why wouldn't they say that, they aren't going to say we aren't responsive to demands.
The sample size for your point is meaningless and the veracity of the statement would be questionable.

They must not have their dish tuned in correctly. My signal very rarely goes out.

This settles it... LSU fans bitch about everything... I mean come on, having to swith the channel for a different game.... Must be tiresome

One rep is meaningless. This issue came up a couple of years ago and directtv was flooded with calls about it. They dont care. They didnt think the numbers added up for them to add it.

CST's contract runs through 2015, at least.

How am I bitching? I would rather watch RedZone and use Cox than have to switch to DirectTV to get NFL Ticket when RedZone is just as good if not better IMO. For people who want to watch their favorite team and they live outside the coverage area then I totally understand NFL Ticket. I just really like RedZone, call me crazy

Cox Sports will be no more in a few years, they are dropping sports from their portfolio.
Hopefully LSU will be on the regional Fox Sports New Orleans.

Can anyone tell me, outside of CST, does Dish and DirectTV provide all other basic channels that most people in La. want? I guess I mean mainly, do you get all the local stations and networks?
Pretty much, the only reason I'm with Cox is because I bundle everything, and want CST for the LSU stuff. They keep creeping prices up on my bundling, so paying a fortune now, and I guess I could give up CST, but at one time, you had to get an antennae to pick up certain local feeds, life WAFB, WBRZ, etc. Just wondering.
ETA: Also, I live in a subdivision, and have 2 pretty big trees in my front yard, which faces to the south. Not sure if that would be an issue with dishes.

Whether that representative had gotten a request for CST or not I don't know, but I had told several including a few that I told; that was why I cancelled directv for Dish. Told one there were thousands more like me in SE LA

To say no one has called about CST is horseshite. I have called plenty of times. They don't give two shits

CST on DTV would cost Cox a shitload of subscribers.
CST (not on DTV) is a huge reason why a good bit of people still have Cox in the BR area.
