Any thoughts on why not?

Miles doesn't trust true freshmen in critical situations. Never has.

He's almost a sophomore, kind of.

I agree pretty much word for word with that. Our D line got manhandled too though. I've mentioned it quite often, but our back 7 looked better then any back 7 I have seen in recent memory last night. They played outfrickingstanding. I'm almost ready for the same type offensive overhaul that we had defensively last year. We flat out have too much talent at the skill positions to look that badly on offense. Our lines are the worst I can ever remember at LSU.

For all this, I think the real game changing moment, the series of events that killed us, came down to two plays: the back-to-back false starts after we'd picked up a first down on our own 30 near the end of the third quarter. We also had some momentum-killing penalties on defense in the first half, but the two back-to-backs really let the air out of our little tire.

I agree. Those felt like signs that it just wasn't going to happen last night.

Crowton should be the goat for the season. His offense has totally not jelled. We are 5-1 with the chance for a good season. Defense played well against Superman.

Great post.Coaching on the offensive side cost the team this game.Starts with Crowten, but ends with Miles.Head coach must make changes. I think the Tigers played their asses off, just not perfectly.Be positive about this team, folks. We're gonna have a great season still.

I think the coaches are lost on offense.
We have a young, inexperienced QB and the coaches don't know what to do.
Last year, they let JL fling it and it killed us. Say what you will about JL, one thing about JL is he kept on playing (good and bad).
JJ is different. I just simply don't see much confidence. He truly looks like a dear in the headlight out there.

I'm still scratching my head that RS doesn't hit the field. Would it have made a difference last night? Probably not. But, you have to get him in there.

Bottom Line, this team better find an identity fast on offense. If not, we may not win another SEC game.
The D isn't great, because we don't have the DL to be great. But, their scrappy as heck. We're getting better and better in the secondary. The LB's are improving as well. But, the lack of O is killing them.

the fact is that Gary Crowton let us down tonight. Our offense is who it is--we have terrible line play and and a very inexperienced, unsure quarterback. Tonight was nothing new. Same thing we've seen all year. It was up to our "genius" OC to design plays, develop a gameplan, and then call those plays to hide our weaknesses and take advantage of our strengths. Gary simply failed at this tonight. As he has mostly this entire year. And you can't convince me that Les is our secret, behind-the-scenes OC. bullshite. We pay Crowton too much money to just sit up in the stands and listen to his fricking Ipod. He is responsible for both the gameplanning and playcalling, both of which tonight sucked cock.

Who is ultimately responsible for certain players getting on the field?

Who is responsible for gameplans, coordinators, other assistant coaches, recruiting, etc?

The OP leaves out the KEY coach. Nice.
