Certainly no Crowton lover here as I was hoping he'd be replaced after last season. However one look at the facts will tell you that the man does know offense. He simply cannot adjust his schemes to fit with QB's who lack a high level of field savvy and intuitiveness. When blessed with the cerebral types of Rattay, Clemens and Flynn his offenses have set records at practically every one of his stops. Adjusting a complicated plan to be executed by QB's who lack "it" has not proven to be in GC's repertoire unfortunately for the Tigers.

actually, I think the pro-style Crowton favors helps recruit skill players.
And it worked out just fine in 2007, albeit with incredible good fortune in the Auburn game.
what's wrong with it, is he insists on going against form when form would be safe and effective. He tries to go for the home run, when a first down would make us all breathe a sigh of relief.

I'm just baffled on how someone could type those words. EVERYWHERE he has been declined after the 1st year!! EVERYWHERE!
(although Chicago increased one year, they went from dead last to almost last) then they declined drastically and he was fired!
Once a decent coach has seen his offense once, they have it figured and all adjust. Well guess what, we play in the SEC and ALL of the coaches are great.
It doesn't work, and here he has the best of the best athletic talent in the country, and he can't get a first down, much less manage game/time situations.
We simply would be more successful running the wing T at this point.

Crowton-lovers:
Where?
Crowton was terrible as a head coach and he's been terrible as an OC. Even when he was OC with the Bears they had shitty seasons.
He comes in and has a good season or two then craps the bed because of his ineffectiveness to change either in the off-season or in-game.
I questioned his hiring at the time and he should have been let go at the end of last season.
I've lived in Salt Lake for quite a while now and I can attest that if you bring his name up to Cougar fans their eyes roll back in their heads and they start going into convulsions and foaming at the mouth. **Hmmm, not sure if that's because of him or because they're Mormon.

Be nice. Scientologists, I could understand, but not oemons. They are the salt of the earth. Or so I hear.
Anyway there are Crowton-lovers here, but like cockroaches they don't like the light where ppl can see them.

I can find a ton. Go ask Bama, Auburn, Arkansas, Miss St,and Ole Miss if they think we should get rid of him. The answer is a resounding no; they love him!

True, some are pretty nice but I've lived here long enough that I've seen more of the other. Not a discussion for the Rant though...
