Bringing in Coach Orgeron even if just to advise and make sure Kelly’s staff new how to handle this seemed the most logical. But LSU higher ups would probably rather watch an LSU building burn than do that.

If only Kelly had called Jenkins before the season, defense would look like the 85 Bears!!!

There's another key point you're missing. Teams are only allows 'x' number of coaches. There was likely some red tape to get around with our DL coach technically still being on staff.

Just because you disagree with how it was handled doesn't mean it was incorrectly. Don't give me that business bull. I've been in key roles in business as well. There are often nuances that aren't seen or known by outsiders and thats likely the case here...things you aren't or refuse to consider.

Again, don’t get sideways because this didn’t go how you wanted but the reality is it suggests to me a lot about yours (or lack there of) when it has to be explained to you three times now.


There was no way Kelly would have known that his defensive line coach would have a medical emergency a week before the first game. The guy ended up in the ICU for goodness sake. You’re acting like Kelly intentionally didn’t want to hire a defensive line coach. It was a week before the season opener.

By then it was too late to go out and find a replacement so he made someone within the program the interim Dline coach. That didn’t work out (again, there was no way to know if it would work or not. The guy doesn’t have a crystal ball) because of that, he went and asked Pete Jenkins to be the coach.

But sure, he should’ve called Ed “if I knew how to fix it, I would” O (a guy that LSU paid a lot of money to to go away after his last two seasons crashed and burned). Why not bring him back and pay him even more money instead of promoting from within?
