Wow. Look at the WIDE open receiver on the 25.

I never noticed this on the replays.

I think Claiborne must be just out of view. He was probably baiting a throw and would have had a pick 6

ETA: Is that AJ that is open? Remember that play was run from the wildcat.

I posted a response to the play Sunday when the "great debate" was if it was a catch or not. Mingo was all up in Maze rack causing him to hurry his throw!

Just another testament of how well our "D" played for the WHOLE game & that it was a TOTAL team effort that helps win the game!!

If Maze isn't pressured by Mingo, I think the ball would have been thrown better and probably caught for the TD. Mingo made Maze rush the throw.

You are absolutely correct. I originally thought it was one of the DB's who caused it, but it was Mingo, running with DB like speed that forced him to get too much air on the ball. At 6'5" tall, Maze had to loft it higher.

I've heard a lot of people say that if that throw had been a little longer, Reid wouldn't have had a chance. I haven't heard anybody say that if JJ had thrown that pass to Shep a little further, he would have walked into the end zone.

Absolutely true. Watch the play a few more times. Mo looks off the receiver and across the field and then looks back at him. Even that far from the camera you can still read his body language "I got yo butt if he throws to you."

Yeah, it's been mentioned before, but nothing wrong with continuing to give Mingo his props. Maze was about to have his head forcefully removed from his body, and threw up a desperation pass that, if not for Reid's ability and determination, might still have set Bama up for the win. A team play.....

Mingo is too undersized to be a stalwart at DE.

I thought this might be exposed against Bama but I was wrong. Mingo stood up against them very well.

Tommy Moffitt is going to give him a few more pounds, but not too much to slow his speed. Mingeaux is 6'5" 240 and just turned 21 years old!

You compared him to 3 guys who are 20-40 pounds heavier than he is, effectively making my point for me.

Stick around, son. Ol' Quad will teach you a few things.

Mingo has the most upside, draftwise, of any LSU player right now - if he puts on 10/20 more pounds and keeps the speed look out!

great rush end, needs to gain weight to be a cornerstone but would be awesome at lber..

Exactly, they have been in the NFL for years. Mingo just turned 21 and has time to SLOWLY fill out, not losing his speed, the way Moffitt treats his speedy kids.

quad, try listening and you might learn something. I think Moffitt knows a bit more about this than you. Now, go back to playing in traffic.

Kearse played in the Super Bowl at 240. There are also a number of NFL DE's that put on 20+ pounds after leaving college.
