They should have a contest at halftime every game by having a random fan shoot the same number of free throws as the Tigers shot in the first half and give him/her a prize if they make a higher percentage. Maybe a scholarship.

If this game would have been the first team to make 15 free --wins- we would still be playing

Free throw shooting aside, Victor's play was the biggest bright spot I took from the game.

He boxed out, he got an offensive rebound, he positioned himself to take a charge (it wasn't called, but at least he tried --- how many other guys have done that this year?), and he brought a physical style of play that this team was sorely lacking.

His toughness seemed to be contagious. Epps had his best game as a Tiger, and I don't think it was coincidence that the game he decided to start fighting for rebounds was the game Victor made his debut.

The free throws need to be corrected though, not just with Craig but the whole team Hornsby aside.

Dude hadn't played a game in a year. He might be a tad bit rusty.

I chalked it up to knocking off some rust from not playing

Shooting 10% from the line is a mental issue. shite even Shaq had a higher percentage.

Missing a couple just got to him. Im sure he will fix it pretty easy with getting used to playing more.

He would have been the high scorer if he would have made his free throws. If he is going to play that position, we need him to make free throws. He will get it. I just hope it is soon.

Why doesn't LSU make Eddie Palubinskas the permanent FT coach?

If you watch all of his free throws, he misses them the same way, high and back of the rim. This is because of where he releases the ball. The ball is brought from his waist to over his head, causing the shot to have to be darn near perfect. This should be corrected with minor adjustments. It's better than him missing because his shot is going left, right, long, short, etc.

Thanks for the analysis Ed Palubinskas.

He is aT least a 60 percent freethrow shooter at worse just by the way he looks shooting them. I'm not worried about 1 game even if i could kick 1 out of ten balls through the rim.

I really believe it was first game jitters. He'll improve a lot in his second game. I remember my first game to play in high school years ago, I missed easy shots, missed free throws, and got 4 fouls in one q'ter. It never happened again. It was first game jitters.

LSU as a team ranks 308 among all college basketball teams in free throws, making 63.8 per cent.

Craig Victor didn't miss 8 free throws. He finished 2nd in each of the attempts.

He's also arguably the best FT shooter ever, and has a track record of making players significantly better at making them.

Give him a couple more live game time freebies. I think you will see an improvement because he has a nice stroke.
