Mathieu was not playing over Loston. Both Loston and Reid saw time at safety this year.

Brandon Taylor was abused before he was injured. I love the kid's bloodlines and his heart but he was a liability several times where he was burnt or took poor angles. We need as much skill at both safety positions as possible. I hope we keep CL in the backfield.

He's big, fast, hard hitting, and most safeties are decent in coverage.

Brandon Taylor was fantastic this year. He just wasn't in a place to be seen. We had him playing way back. Our pass D struggled mightily when he went out. That's why Masoli and Mallett passed all over us.

I hope not. Loston and Reid have the potential to become the best safety tandem LSU has ever put on the field together.
