The night before Gavin Dugas finally broke out, Paul Mainieri had a “pointed” conversation with him. He essentially told Dugas to relax. Since then, Dugas has become one of LSU’s best players

I knew Mainieri would have that pointed convo with Dugas, that's why I predicted him to have a breakout season this year.

Wilson may be the worst writer we’ve had covering baseball. He finishes the article this way:

quote:

Now for the first time, Dugas fully understands and trusts his ability as a player. Before his game-winning single against UTSA last month, he looked at Smith. Neither said a word. They didn’t need to. Dugas felt calm as he waited in the on-deck circle. He knew he would win the game if given the chance. He breathed. And then he smiled.

I don't think he'll lead Gio off either, and I'm not completely sold on it yet either.

I really think I want Crews 1 or 2. I don't love him in the 3-hole.

Dugas has been awesome.

Many other players have been pretty dam good too. Sucks the W/L record doesn't reflect that.

Gotta hit these SEC pitchers.

Definitely some individual bright spots throughout the year so far. And, some really fun non-conference wins. Watching Georgia destroy Vandy last night gives me some hope that we can put it all together, then consistency becomes the key.

I never thought I would hate a coach more than Miles.
