If Miles lets O get away then he needs his arse whooped. All this talk about the new DC needing to be a good recruiter and you let one of the best recruiters in the game slip away without any contact whatsoever

There's always more going on behind the scenes than reports and dudes with sources can know.
This situation feels totally off. Either Miles and top brass are running a dog and pony show or things are well in hand.

Agreed.
The problem is that some major dysfunction between Miles and Alleva was revealed during the Chavis contract fiasco. That is of serious concern, because the DC hire is huge for LSU.

I'd rather Coach O be the DC than some of these names being mentioned. He's a DL coach but has HC experience. Sucked with Ole Miss, but most do.
Did really well as interim HC at USC when Kiffin was fired. Some felt he should have gotten the HC job at USC, but he wasn't USC enough to be the face of their program, since they have that uppity reputation to uphold.

Didn't we experiment with promoting Stud becoming the Offensive Coordinator and it failed. Why promote from within with Haley. We need someone with DC experience!!! Go get CP, please!!!!

Anybody else think the "we have cooled on Pendergast" means we are definitely hiring this guy. 1. Others won't interview if they think CP has the job. 2. CP will ask for the moon with salary if they show too much interest. I think he would be a home run.

I almost don't care if Haley is promoted anymore. It will be nice to have some of you finally jump off the cliff. At least the lines at the bathrooms won't be so long anymore.

You don't really know that though. I'd assume his eventual goal would to be a DC somewhere. I mean shite, just a couple of days ago the same smucks were saying there was interest coming from state for Haley to be DC there. Why would you choose to believe one thing and not the other?

Ehh I guess this would be similar, but didn't we go 13-1 that year?
Look I want someone more proven, but some of these reasonings are stupid. BTW stud was an oc before, Haley was a DC before.

I've done a Lil research on brick and I guess I can see why Miles wants to keep him around even if it is just as a position coach. Les has been loyal to assistants to a fault, but it is his nature of being a good man. If this chavis thing was a surprise like it does seem, he's a bugger jack arse than I could have imagined.
But if brick is given the job, he's worked under chavis, and from what I've seen over the years, is the one making the calls into the defense on the sideline. So at the very least it would be similar to what we've seen as far a scheme.
I do think there are better options, but also see why Les is reluctant to let him go. If it does happen and doesn't work out, well then everyone gets their wish and we will be starting fresh sooner than later.

I'm going to save my comments until Les Miles elects someone to the position.
