Thanks for the advice, is it offensive over there to use the word 'mate'?

Yeah we're planning to buy some LSU shirts, is it a major rip off to buy it at the stadium?

So when you say downtown, is that far from the stadium?

It's a few miles. Definitely can't walk there unless you like being stabbed.

Is the campus right next to the stadium?

Yes the stadium is on campus.

That's what I was thinking, unless it's offensive for some reason

They will all have drinks already, and don't give them money. A random gift from Australia would be cool though

Ok good to know, we might stock up on some little gifts we can hand out

Thanks so much for the invite, much appreciated.

Are there maps on site so we can figure out where all the lots are? I'm guessing we're gonna be fairly lost out there, particularly as we start drinking

How many lots are there?

shite man, so is it pretty unsafe to walk outside the stadium/campus?

Ok so is the tailgate on campus also in the car park or something? Are foreigners allowed to walk around the campus on game day?

Do you actually think it is funny or cute?

Just make sure you carry your registration paperwork from the local constabulary

You're gonna have to wear your patch as well. I believe it's a boomerang for Australians

Yes, foreigners can walk around campus. Especially if you're drinking

No, definitely not. You'll be fine on campus.

The area between campus and downtown is not safe, through.

Campus is huge. Basically a town in and of itself. There are tailgates all over the place. You can wander around and find different individual tailgates with different vibes, crowds, etc. Just walking around and taking it all in is a very fun experience.

Tailgating is pretty much everywhere on and around campus.

The area just to the North of campus (between downtown and campus) can be a sketchy, but it's nothing that bad.

Cool thanks for the breakdown, sounds like we can just wander around drinking, eating and mingling amongst all the tailgates. Can't wait!

So what is considered downtown? Is that the area north of campus to the highway?

For sure. That's the best way to go about it on your first visit, in my opinion. Start at the Parade Ground and work your way in the general direction of the stadium and I guarantee you'll have a good time.

Sounds good, thanks for the recommendation

One other thing, are there places around campus for us to buy drinks if we need to or we have to bring them with us?
