Although he was listed at 195 lbs, George told me he was more like 165 during the season. 2nd team AP All-American in 1969 after mostly missing 2 years due to a torn Achilles. Even though DT’s were only 230-240, he was a fearless sob when taking them on, winning most of the battles.

Let’s keep the throwback cards going

quote:
Jimmy Taylor - Fullback, 1957
Viewed as one of the most complete football players to have ever played the game, Jimmy Taylor was named an All-American by the Football Writers Association of America-Look in 1957. Voted the MVP of the 1958 Senior Bowl, he went on to a legendary pro career with the Green Bay Packers (1958-66) and New Orleans Saints (1967) and was later inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1976. Taylor is also a member of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame.

Jim is still the last white guy to lead the NFL in rushing.

Copeland I thought for sure was a nfl FB and would crush it. But no Quinn was better at least for nfl teams

Chris Jackson, Punter/Kicker
3:30 mark

quote:
In his first game as head coach of LSU in 2005, on the team's first offensive possession, Miles gave the green light on a fake punt call, which was drawn up for punter Chris Jackson - a high school quarterback and then third baseman on the LSU baseball team - to throw it to the gunner if he was left unopened by the block team. On not only did Miles give the green light on the call, but he did so with the Tigers backed up and punting out of their own end zone. Jackson completed the pass and picked up the first down, and LSU went on to win the road game in dramatic fashion.
3:30 mark
