Could South Carolina's O be the perfect opponent for LSU's D?

Aside from Vandy of course, with their lack of misdirection and desire to not turn the ball over, could the South Carolina offense be exactly what the LSU defense needs coming off the unexpected bye week? I also give my thoughts on Myles Brennan "potentially" being out, and why having two quarterbacks makes me nervous.

I mean is really that big of a deal if we contain USCe? I think it’s pretty sad that it’s come to this.

Their big backs and LSUs lack luster tackling have me really worried. I could see USCe running for 200+ in this one. Not too mention the 200+ in the air.

Watch all the misdirection come Saturday night Wait for it, because any OC with a pulse will implement this!

I dont know how much yall have watched of SC, but they are more than capable offensively. They dont have many weapons but the weapons they have are very good.

Luckily, we can lock up their best WR in smith with Stingley and if our defense TRULY has it together, we can bottle up Harris. If we still dont have it together, though, that RB is capable of running for 200 yards.

Considering what we have allowed seemingly bad offenses to do to us this season, if we contain anyone it's a big deal. Building blocks.

I agree with this. You look at our run defense numbers on paper and they look good, but as a fan we all know the run defense hasn't been good. Harris has been a good back this season, so I think this is one aspect of the game that we can really watch and actually take something away from. If we can contain him on the ground I'll feel really good about it.

Honestly when they bring in Fenwick will be a better judge on our tackling, he averages 3.5 yards after contact, Harris is just 1.5 yards. Fenwick is another good back for them we haven't discussed a lot.

I've watched all of their games. Bobo has that offense moving in the right direction. They have a WR and RB that could play anywhere and the qb is capable of making throws.

This will be the best offense LSU has faced from a talent standpoint.

The fact that this is a topic of discussion says all one need know about the LSU defense. What a disaster.

I think my main point is that they're not an offense that wants to put up 500 yards and 50 points on you. They want to control the pace of the game, they want to take care of the football and rely on their defense, etc. Now what they do, they do very well, and if LSU doesn't have their shite together they'll run for a lot of yards and be efficient in the passing game. But I don't think they'll put up 600 yards and 45 points like Missouri did.

At least I hope not lol

Well under 500 yards would be progress with this group.

I think Cox and Clark will thoroughly enjoy not having to guard a guy in the slot the weekend. Look for them to play as expected during the preseason. They may try to sneak a back out off of play action, but that should be easy compared to the quick slants and crossing routes they have had to cover the first three games.

We could easily give up 500 yards and lose this in embarrassing fashion.

What little I watched of their game last weekend they ran a lot of counters and I think a few WR sweeps.

Amazing how quickly the team went from the best to SEC bottom feeder bad. That isn’t supposed to happen to a program the caliber of LSU under any circumstances due to talent alone.
