If we could have made any stops on 3rd down, we prolly would have went 11-1. We couldn't get off the field against Ole Miss or Georgia.
When the defense finally did get a stop in the UGA game, Beckham muffed a punt.

I'm sure we were young somewhere.

I was at all of our losses.
UGA: Beckham dropped punt
OM: Offense didn't show up/3 or more ints/dropped passes allover
Bama: Fumble on the goal line, 2nd half shite the bed
I really am sick of these threads.
Go back and look at the last several national champions and tell me where their QB is playing in the NFL. they aint.
OBJ is a star in the NFL right now and he almost single-handily lost us that UGA game with the turnover on the punt. That coupled with a young Defense playing like crap did us in. Yet we still had a chance to win the game with 2:30 left in the 4th but Mett missed on 3 straight passes to wide open receivers.
Ole Miss, Mett threw 2 of the worst picks in college football that game. both deep balls into triple coverage against the best safety in the SEC maybe the nation.
Bama was a game we should have been up at halftime and our offensive line just gave up in the 2nd half.

we do not coach to excellence, we coach to play close and win in the fourth quarter
Our philosphy has a flaw that surfaces at the wrong time

In the ten wins, LSU allowed 17.7 points per game.
In the three losses, LSU allowed 36.3 points per game.

this. bama was just a clusterfrick of mistakes. also mett had 3 int's vs Ole miss. give credit to him tho for keeping it close but it was too much to overcome.
unlike UGA where the defense was a shitstorm and Mett played his arse off. that game was sickening for him to lose.
all three on road.

I know our defense was suspect, especially the secondary

We basically out recruit the country and can't effectively coach the talent we have.
Wrong. We have finished 2nd in the sec in recruiting 1 time in the last 5 years.

On another note, we've had enough talent to field an NFL expansion team the last few years and nothing to show for it. We basically out recruit the country and can't effectively coach the talent we have.
The crux of the problem in a nutshell.

Georgia loss was on the DBs totally being lost. And by lost I mean LOST, looking and pointing at each other with shrugged shoulders after G td's.

Jesus fricking christ, this same topic gets started every week. You mushbrains really need some new material. You know how they lost 3 games, you watched the same damn games we watched.
- We lost a September trip to Athens that wasn't on the schedule until the bridge schedule was drawn up. Our young D wasn't ready for the road test and ODB muffed a punt which set up what proved to be the decisive score.
- Mett threw 3 first half INT's in Oxford that were too much to overcome. We lost by a FG.
- Bottom fell out vs. Bama after a strong effort for quarters. Left a bunch of points on the table in the RZ.
