Whats funny is I saw Daddy Dale on NBC Sports channel with Bob Costas and Jay Bilas the other day, and he is now equating NCAA to drug cartels

With the state of LSU basketball I think he will be good for recruiting. Trent obviously was sorely lacking in this area. The one thing at this point in time that will get us good recruits is loyalty and love for LSU. Former players sometimes have sons that follow in their dad's footsteps. Now is the time this is happening. Geert Hammink coached by Jones has three sons who are all good if not potentially great ball players. Shane is the one who we have been recruiting to come here next year. He was just named MVP in a big tournament in Europe that included a team from America. No one really knows but if he wasn't a lock before then hopefully now that Jones will be coach he will be. Another example of this is Derrick Taylor, former Tiger, also has a son who is very good and playing in Europe. If we can get him also with Shane's two younger twin brothers then Jones will have done great. Time will tell.

In all seriousness to the OP, I think the boosters who wanted Jones would have just been very lukewarm in recommending LSU but they wouldn't negatively recruit. I can't imagine they would be such Judases.
Collis has been doing it for four years. Imagine that, Judas...

Watch those videos of Johnny in the other thread. The man commands respect, humbly. He will recruit and he will help high school basketball in this state. book it.

He proved he could coach. Just look at the upward trend of North Texas basketball. Should be great for recruiting Louisiana. Add in that he is an ex LSU basketball player. I just don't see the negatives of this hire.
