Could Lane Kiffin actually payout his salary in marketing revenue to LSU Football?

I was beginning to think, LSU Football is seemingly the headline story every single week for over a month. What are some actual tangible ways that this pays off?

- I saw ESPN did an episode titled "The Difference" that gets in depth beind scenes look at LSU first 2 games, and shows La Tech halftime speech, interviews Dotter, Benefield, Weeks, Seaton... does LSU Football get paid by ESPN for that?

- What are other ways Lane adds money to LSU via marketing? The stadium would sell out regardless, and increased stubhub prices makes its way to scalpers and not LSU Football

- Maybe increases student count marginally?

- More TAF donations?

- Any sponsorship deals LSU has landed? Doordash and Dr Pepper seems to go to just Lane only and not LSU Football as a whole

- Does LSU get any more money at all from having more viewers per game than other SEC teams? or is it split equally? Does having more ABC 7 PM games yield more dollars to those teams, on top of what SEC media rights deal pays out?

Any ways you can think of?

If we continue to be a competitive football team and regular make the playoffs, Lane will make the school much more than what’s put into his contract and NIL combined. He already draws enough attention by himself. Couple that with a dominant football program that already gets good TV ratings, yeah that money is gonna get recouped.

Enrollment is sky high and has been for a few years now.

Any press is good press

Kiffin is elevating the brand. There are multiple financial benefits, both direct and indirect. An example of an indirect benefit is that large companies like Nike are more willing to sign deals with LSU kids than kids at other schools, simply due to the continued attention. Even though LSU sees none of that money directly, the school benefits as high profile recruits become more willing to come to LSU, which in turn makes the team better, which in turn builds the brand more.

I'll be very curious to see what our media profile is like after this week, assuming a win. I'm sure we'll still get headlines cause it's Lane, but I expect it to die down significantly and focus on the next thing. Or the other focus might be on how good other SEC teams are and minimize LSU. Just win baby

Just win and LSU will benefit enormously as a college. Take a look at Alabama before and after Saban.

Free national advertising for LSU almost every week since he was hired.
Just win one game at a time.

In business I always taught management and clients that good employees always earn their salary and provide solid ROI for the company..you really can't pay them too much...share the wealth.
BUT, if you paid poor employees $0.00 they will always cost us money.
