Just heard Beckwith say that Brandon Taylor and Patrick Peterson are running with the second group behind Hawkins and Eugene. Am i the only one that expected Jones and Brooks to be ahead of the true freshman?

given that the freshmen have not practiced with the older players yet, i find it pretty hard to believe you really heard beckwith make that exact statement.

You are going to get dogged, you need to retreat now before you are showed up. You are wrong on this one, the selected veterans are players that are not in the running playing much like Ridley, Corley, etc.

I agree with latiger09...somebody call the press

it WILL BE 2 of the following 3:
Ron Brooks
Patrick Peterson
Phelon Jones

It may take until the Florida game to arrive at the inevitability of a Brooks-Peterson CB pair, but that IS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN, BOOK IT. The coaches may allow Jai a chance due to seniority, but unless he has developed an amazing change in his filed awareness, he will not stay the man at corner. He has the physical skills, but must show huge gains in instincts and awarensss. Brooks and Peterson have it all, and so does Phelon, so look to see these 3 develop into the primary CB's.

unless jai eugene has made some kind of drastic improvement...I would rather practically anyone else in purple and gold to man that corner...

the memories of last years game with him stepping in still haunt me....and it was only for a few plays...

The veterans are practicing in the morning, the new guys in the afternoon. Nobody is participating in both workouts - it's one or the other, not both.

Jesus Christ, you're a fricking moron. Jai might wind up sucking, but it won't be because his play last year destined him to that. I know you might be too fricking stupid to understand this, but players sometimes get better after their freshman seasons. Oftentimes, significantly.

We haven't even had a practice with full pads, and you think decisions on winning positions have already been made--clueless.

Thank you. It's almost a joke how fast people give up on some of the players. Maybe we should cut Jai since he wasn't first team All-SEC as a RS Freshman.

I believe Peterson has been practicing at Jai's spot...on the right side maybe? Hawkins' spot is probably pretty secure on the other side. I'm not a Jai hater...I think in the long run he'll be fine. But, with everything we're hearing about Peterson, I'm not sure he'll be able to hold him off the entire year. Apparently Peterson may just be too good to leave on the bench. I see him getting significant playing time but maybe not starting, much like Chad Jones last year. No matter how good he is though, it still scares the hell out of me that we could have a couple of true freshmen roaming around back there.
