re: 09' QB rotation....

I'm 95% sure RS wont redshirt next season. He may or may not get many snaps at QB, but he will see the field as a WR or RB ala Trindon Holliday.

This guy is too good to redshirt.

That's what raises a red flag for me concerning JJ...Les wont even put him in during desperate times...

I dont know if he is somehow trying to protect him or just has no faith in his ability just yet, either way not a ringing endorsement for JJ...

given our situation now though, Les needs to pull the trigger and give JJ a shot...start preparing for next season.

09' QB rotation....

Is Russell Sheppard good enough to step in and play from day 1?

Is Jordan Jefferson the answer? You really have to look at the fact that Les wont even put him in at all just yet...even as bad as J Lee has been at times...thats not a good sign....

Can J Lee get his shite together, possibly be part of a two-man rotation with Jefferson/Sheppard? He did seem to do better with Hatch around to spell him occasionally.

In hindsight, most predicted this would happen this year, but its still tough to stomach.

Even though USC gets a lot less credit on here compared to the national polls...duh....I'm still not seeing them as such a dominant #1...

Seems as though even folks here are drinking the red and gold kool-aid.....

what gives?

Do you people really think they are THAT good?
I think a pre-season poll is OK, but after about 3-5 weeks "RANKINGS" based on "numbers" should be generated and the pre-season poll thrown away.

You do realize how utterly silly that is, right?

as a german...I see many conflicts ahead...
the pollsters have to take the schedule into consideration...its not really a x factor...it is what it is...LSU has a tough one....but so does UGA and others..its common knowledge

the returning starters can tell you a lot as well...but certainly not the entire story...look at Florida...they have a ton of starters returning to a horrible defense...does that mean they will improve or just have the same hacks with the same results as last year..

I dont have a problem at all with preseason polls..call them what you like but the bottom line is they are generally extremely 'educated' guesses, which is where all thoughts and ideas start...
auburn may very well suck arse this year...at least early in the season when we play them...

prolly our best shot at beating them away in quite a few years...

new qb and offense, two new coordinators...
I guess too many prognostications have us automatically losing at both Auburn and Florida.

This is just silly....sure we havent had much success at jordan-hare lately but they are early in the season, have 2 new coordinators, a green qb running a new offensive scheme...hell we have to win there sooner or later...lol...

As for the belly-draggers...should be a repeat of 07 there with them being entirely an offensive threat with yet more poor defensive play, not to mention we have done pretty well in gainsville as of late....

I just like our chances in arguably our two toughest road tests....Les has done very well in holding the home court serve so to speak...and figure that trend will continue....

Lets rock n roll....I am beyond ready for this season to get underway....

wait a second...wasnt 06 ohio state senior laden before getting destroyed by the belly-draggers?

the senior-laden advantage is overrated...
well obviously...I think LSU can meet or exceed any of the mentioned teams talent-wise....
Lets hear some comments...

USCw?
Florida?
Georgia?
Oklahoma?
Ohio St?
Auburn?

any others I might have missed...?
I want Texas to man-up and schedule a game with LSU.
all I mean by the heisman comment is are we more concerned about having that 1 guy put up all the stats as opposed to sticking with our recent track record of rb by committee...

why try to fix something that isnt broke...?
no no....I wasnt really responding to your post alone...there have been a few articles out the last week or so seeming to stress the importance of having that one go-to guy at rB and I just dont understand the logic behind that...

unless these guys start transferring out or something, lets stick with what has worked for us lately is all....
that depends on the next bama QB...

have they recruited anybody worthwhile?

I havent heard....
what exactly is so damn important about naming a #1 RB?

it just seems to create dissension among the rb corp itself...do it like we have the past 4-6 years...let the hot hand get the bulk of the carries....

are we trying to create a heisman canidate or something here?

toughest road game...

everybody and their momma are on the bellydragger bandwagon...but at least we have had some measure of success there lately...

until we manage to win on the plains...Auburn is the team all up in our collective heads...no?

unless jai eugene has made some kind of drastic improvement...I would rather practically anyone else in purple and gold to man that corner...

the memories of last years game with him stepping in still haunt me....and it was only for a few plays...
