With the amount of safeties and the amount of talent they possess, is a move to LB in the near future for Corey Thompson?

I hope the light turns on for him. He's got the physical tools to be someone that could fit.

Corey Thompson will break out this year. Kid has an elite ceiling.

I'm aware of how many safeties we have, but we brought in 4 or 5 guys who played safety last year in HS. CLM will play True Frosh so that their class doesn't matter.

I would love to see CT play like ER with more ball skills.

I know we'll find out soon enough with spring ball around the corner, but CLM seems really intent on getting J. Adams on the field asap at Safety and in the return game per his CBS interview.

So would everyone else. He's a good player, but we're still going to see multiple faces at both safety positions this season IMO.

He'll play CB.

It's not truly the offseason until we start talking position switches. He is better than Martin and has more experience at the position than the rest. He will start more than likely.

If Jamal Adams is as good as advertised, ho does he take playing time away from?

Did Mills officialy switch to safety or was that just for the bowl game due to injuries?

Mills switched to FS full-time IIRC.

What does CT need to do the most to be thrown in the top safety category? Work on his agility? Ball skills? Or is he right where he needs to be?

This one might be in a battle for the other Safety spot.

just for the bowl, in his mind at least. I saw an interview before the game and he said he considers himself a CB. hopefully they keep him at safety, I think it puts our best DBs on the field more consistently, and gives the best combo.

If nothing changes, Corey Thompson will be your starter at Free Safety.*

*the proviso as always is assuming he is physically able to go.

I hope that he plays over Martin. Thompson is good with a ton of potential but idk how that injury is going to hold him back. At the absolute worst (most likely won't happen) is Thompson being redshirted this season. That being said, IMO there is no way that one of Jamal Adams or Voorhies/Jefferson isn't starting by the homecoming game. Most likely Jamal.

Mills should have the other spot locked down. Dude is built like a safety. He's an incredible tackler. I believe that he could be a beast rooming the field or even in the nickel coving the other teams slot. Let's just leave the coverage on the outside to RR21 and TW16.

The possibilities are endless

LSU had 6 guys get a start at least 1 game at Safety last season and only 2 of those guys are gone.

Safety is just like any other position on LSU's defense where many will get opportunities. Having 4 guys returning who have experience is huge.

Thompson, Martin, Jefferson, and Mills will all get on the field a lot.
