How many posts do I need to "be qualified to speak"? Jeez. So I haven't posted about softball. What is your point? I make my points, u make yours. I will only say that I have lots of softball experience and I know from whence I speak. Should Bourg have been given more time on the field she would have been one of the best tigers ever- period. And yes, I don't post much about softball. I do follow it very closely however

I'm surprised it took corbello this long, ULL could use her.

yep. she was going there originally anyway before LSU. Then stuff went down. Like i said before the writing was on the wall last year. She could have left before junior year with selman and had two years left. Selman pitched this year for baylor. corbello now only has a year left. I figured she would transfer. Too good not to be pitching somewhere at a div 1. She was buried deep on the depth chart anyways.

trust me. Coach Angel and Coach J would love that. I'll be seeing and talking to both soon at camp and lessons.

Saying things like this is what disqualifies you.

I really like Bourg and wish she could stay. Apparently, Sanchez and Quinn were both ahead of her at 2nd. And Serrett is a better fielder than Bourg and to say otherwise is silly at this point.

Let's face it...this is about the highest level for these girls and they want to play before it's likely over. Can't blame them.

Taking inventory, considering who we are losing, who we are getting...the lineup may look something like this...and i am just guessing...

Catcher---Jaquish
1st Base---
2nd Base --Quinn
SS--Serret
3rd base--Doyle
Left---
Center--Griggs
Right--Landry

Where will Nicky play, and will Thornhill stay in Left? We are replacing only three players? Just throwing this out.

Saintsfan22. I happen to know what kind of talent Bourg is. We can disagree on it. No problem. We will never be able to prove it anyway. Nobody's opinion disqualifies them from a discussion however. It is what it is and I know she is and could have been one of the best. It's all good

Can Thornhill play first? She's tall and athletic.

C- Jaquish and Loupe
1B- Thornhill/Springfield
2B- Quinn/Sanchez
SS- Serrett
3B- Doyle/Satchell
LF- Dawson
CF- Griggs
RF- Landry

i just hope we dont end up with four slappers...

Thornhill is pretty good. Maybe she can play first base. I know it makes no sense to throw this in, but we sure are going to miss Sandra Simmons..in the end, she proved what she was all about. Would be nice to have her next year.. but yeah, maybe Thornhill can play first.

We will miss an all American like Bell obviously, but losses of Simmons and Kloss are going to really hurt. 2 very solid leaders and individuals.

It's pretty obvious your opinion in not non-biased.

Why not? If she goes somewhere and she's an All-American we can easily conclude Beth made a mistake. I think she can definitely start somewhere but I don't see that scenario happening.

Yeah...I just hate when coaches, who see the players every day in practice, leave potentially "one of the best tigers ever" on the bench.

Bourg will be a nice player for another school, and I congratulate her for what must have been a tough decision to leave a place that she loves dearly. Just leave the "GOAT" talk out of this because it makes you look silly.

Cunningham should be alternating with Jaquish next season at catcher. She can play In the infield as well too.

Very telling about today's college athlete and the millenial generation in general. "I'm not happy with MY playing time so I am going to go play somewhere else." Never mind that the school offered you a scholarship because they thought you could help the TEAM, on and off the field.

If you aren't happy with your playing time, GET BETTER!!! If you still can't beat them out, tip your hat to them and be glad that someone that good is out there helping your team! If Rudy had been born fifty years later, he would have been all-conference at some NAIA school and no one ever would have heard about him!

I would ride the pine for four years just to be a TIGER!!!

i wouldn't write it in stone that the coaches are always right, that they always start the right people, and that they are willing to pull a slumping or erratic player. True, we have to trust the coach, but if there is not a good outlook for starting, those second and third team players may look elsewhere.

To say that one should be happy just making the team, that's going to depend on individual player preference.

correct. ill bet baylee wished she left with selman now. oh well. she was a good sport but when you are good enough to play at any college level especially division 1 and you were the gatorade player of the year for your home state you need reps and be where you can play.

So with that thinking, if you never get promoted at work, you should keep trying to be a better employee and if you try with all your might and still get passed over for promotion then tip your hat to the other employees because you are still helping the company you work for. Nevermind that you could better yours or your families situation at another company.Great advice Homer.

You forget that these girls are competitors and want to play. The transfer rules for softball are pretty lenient, they don't usually have to sit out a season. So, if they can leave and contribute elsewhere, why shouldn't they do that? Also, softball has 12 scholarships to divide amongst a team of 20+. They all aren't getting the same amount of compensation. All three of those girls are LA natives. I'm sure it was very difficult for them to decide to leave the state's top university that is seeing its best softball run (as far as WCWS appearances go).

Now, as long as they were at LSU, I hope they were good teammates even if they were not playing as much as they wanted to be. Cheering on and supporting those in front of them and whatnot. That would be helping their TEAM, as you say.
