Yeah...every school is on the tops of the boards because that's the name of the stadium and field. Seriously, if coke was going to spend 100 million to buy rights to a field..that's what it would look like and that's where it would go.
We basically have coca cola field now. They got a sweet deal.

you're just ignorant if you think "welcome to death valley" is equal to having the name of your school and stadium at the top of your largest scoreboard in terms of how many times eyes will look at it.

There were 18 ad spaces displayed on the northern video board last year.
10 of those ads covered the speaker grills and remain in place. Four of the digital ad spaces will still be present on the northern video board (per Michael Cauble a few weeks ago).
The screen real estate available for footage is increasing, which results in the removal of the final 4 ads. However, the Coca-Cola ad is simply being moved to the top of the board, which results in just 3 fewer ads.
Throw in the south video monitors, with each containing 4 static ad spaces, and you now have a net increase of 5 ad spaces within the stadium - as well as the removal of the "National Champions" lettering from the most visible location in the stadium.

because when i watch the replay, watch the intro, look at the score, the time left timeouts left down and distance i won't be looking at the new frickin bathrooms at the expansion. ill be looking at the biggest screen we have available. along with you and the other 100k people there..thats why its THE most prime spot for an ad.

You did all that work and completely left off adding in the ads on the old South EZ. Just because it was gone one year because of construction doesn't mean you get to leave it out to make your point.

Yeah, when I look up at the scoreboard how will I know that I'm on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. The confusion is going to render me helpless. THANKS ALLEVA.

wonder why we even bothered adding two new video screens in the south endzone when no one will even look at them. actually, me personally, i sit around the goal line of the north endzone, and i will look to the new video boards because they're right in front of my face, just like half of the stadium will.

its all about branding, coke has one upped lsu on this one.
think of it this way, say you were a penn state fan and you were shown a picture of the scoreboard and only the scoreboard. two weeks later someone asked you what do you remember about the scoreboard what would your response be? more than likely coke would be the first thing that comes up.

A few golden arches would look great on top of the new video boards! Its available ad space and it doesn't take up space on the actual screen!
Maybe a giant tabasco bottle on top of the middle lego block?

that also assumes people care what scoreboards look like. when i go to a stadium i notice nothing more than if the scoreboard was big or small. seriously, too many of y'all find far too much to complain about.

The old south video monitor contained 8 ad spaces, all of which were transplanted to the northern video board.
Prior to the destruction of the south video board, the northern video board contained 4 ad spaces.
Old south video board (8 ad spaces) -
Old northern video board (4 ad spaces) -
That's 12 ad spaces. With the removal of the south video board, the northern video board was augmented to accommodate additional ad space, and last year it featured 18 ads.
This year, there will be 23 ad spaces in the stadium.

I'm just aggravated LSU gave up great branding space for an ad. thats all

Yeah, this is a hilariously weak thing to bitch about. And they conveniently ignore the fact that there's a big tiger head at the top of it and the whole thing is purple.
