Was the play calling really that conservative in the second half? I admit, while watching the game it definitely felt that way, but after further review, I don't think this is accurate.

My son in-law said that he was worried that Miami was coming back in the second half, but I never felt like LSU was in jeopardy of losing a big lead. I would have like to see us be a bit more aggressive int he 3rd quarter, but I don't blame the coaches at all for their approach.

The clearly conservative calls I saw were twice in the 4th we had second and two. Miami has like 10 guys in the box and I think all 11 on the second one.

They were PERFECT opportunities for a play action or just a pass in general.

Instead they run twice both times, get stuffed 4 times, and punt both times.

Three words;

Game. Film. Auburn.

no excuses in 3 weeks. need more controlled short passing until secondary plays man press or gets dafety help

also need to use this receiving corps height. past LSU teams would drool at having so many guys 6'4" or taller. we should be throwing fades in the red zone, back shoulders and seams all facking day. NO EXCUSE in 3 weeks to not use those with this height.

As coach O said we would have thrown the ball more had we been able to protect the QB. Pass protection is the weakest link for LSU to win the west.

they still had a long ways to go
Yep, you could tell Rozier was beat down when he made that TD run and then walked off like he was ready to get in the dressing room.

I wasn't too happy we were kneeling the ball with 1:22 left in the first half, but I guess they were just trying to avoid letting them back in the game with a mistake.

Yes we did throw in the 2nd half, but they were very basic pass plays. We were showing nothing besides simple low-risk plays that every school runs. In a nutshell, yes it was conservative, but who cares. We pounded Miami in the 1 half and the coaches, as they should, were thinking about Auburn and beyond in the 2nd half.

Sixteen is a big arse lead in the fourth.
BS. It's 2 scores.

Two scores and two two-point conversions. It's doable but it's a hard climb.

They need to learn how to catch normal balls before we go increasing degree of difficulty of the catches.
