It's already happened. We had Alabama beat last year until Les did his thing and just gave the game away thanks to that magnificent prevent defense.
Wonder who will be the beneficiary this year? Maybe he will give Johnny Football a wide open field with a six point lead and 30 seconds to play.

Yeah, it's been a couple days and I'm having a hard time being critical of a 14 pt SEC win. The defense is a bit worrisome more so than the offense but I think it'll improve. And I don't know if Chavis was rotating backups in the 2nd half.

The only thing that I am really critical of after two days is the penalties that we got. Four false starts? Two personal fouls? Absolutely ridiculous. I am an more noyed that our defense allowed a number of passes which allowed Auburn think that they had more of a chance to "turn the tide" than they really did. It was obvious that the offense could have scored if needed. After all, AU came out of the half and scored and LSU turned around with a 75 yard drive to keep the score at 21. A couple of possessions later, AU drives for a TD and LSU answers right back with an 81 yard drive to bring it back up to 21. After that, there was no point to push it since AU had little to no chance to score enough to win, but that didn't stop them from thinking they still had a chance. And now we have to listen to their fans who want to claim that they are better than they really are and "they were fighting their way back". Otherwise, anyone that watched that game should be satisfied that they won solidly, got plenty of players into the game for experience, and no major injuries.

Like somebody said earlier...

Defense does great, good job Chavis.
Defense does bad, terrible job Les.

Four false starts?

hopefully Hawkins will get that ironed out, but the on on Trai the first play of the game was a head-scratcher, he simply turned his head to the QB, that happens on every play. I couldn't really tell on the one on Collins, it looked like he just changed the position of his arm, didn't really jump, but he moved his arm quickly and the Auburn defense starting pointing at him...

I noticed that Boat...maybe it was too early to go conservative with Auburn starting to get a little momentum going? If and when we were to get Georgia in that situation I hope we keep it going, can't give Georgia an opportunity to get back in the game in he 4th,field conditions will hopefully be better this weekend,a muddy, nasty field can surely cause you to change your game plan for obvious reasons, not expecting us to put points on the board late in the game, but a few more first downs and some long drives would help the defense out and not put so much pressure on them...

want to take a guess at our yardage split on saturday??

229 run
228 pass

in the rain

with an almost instant 14-0 lead.

you do know that passing 60 times a game doesn't increase our chances of winning?

Obviously we went ultra conservative after our wide open first quarter. A first quarter that consisted of 5 passing attempts for 65 yards. Which happens to be just about a fourth of our passing attempts and yardage for the game.

I provided the play by pay summary that every person said did not change from start to finish. The offense went into a hole and lost all momentum which went to Auburn.

Yes, the offense went conservative. WITH 6 MINUTES LEFT. Not the entire second half. That is a huge difference.

Stanford
Jumped out to a big lead, went super conservative in the 4th, at home, against a conference opponent, in rainy & muddy conditions, and let Arizona State score 3 unanswered touchdowns late. Yet Stanford won comfortably anyway. In other words, the exact same thing you are criticizing LSU for doing. This is literally the worst example you could have picked.

Why can't you dickheads understand this! Every play Les has ever called has failed. But he keeps on meddling. You dumbasses are pitiful.

And it is sad that I have to even write this paragraph but low IQ's here demand it. check your sarc meter.

My only worry Sat. is that the Tigers don't take the forth quarter off. Last week they looked completely give out on defense. Flame away!

No flame necessary, but please check the facts that LSU had TOP lead heading into the 4th quarter and a 21 point lead after the first play of the 4th quarter. First 3 possessions of the 4th quarter, the run/pass ratio was near 50%. After a false start penalty on 1st down, LSU ran twice for a first, then went pass run pass and punted to the AU 12. At that point, (well into the 4th), the LSU Defense had no reason to be gassed. TOP was about the same, plays run about the same. The defense gave up a 3rd and 12 from the 10 and AU drove it down their throats. THAT drive is what gassed the defense. But that's on the defense, not the offense.
We never went run run run punt until there were THREE MINUTES left in the game, up by 2 TDs.

Fishhead stop with the facts already. Nobody here gives a crap about what really happened. So take that shite somewhere else. This is the rant!

A "Conservative" play on offense is one where Jeremy Hill gets tackled, where Mett gets sacked, or where a pass is incomplete.

Understanding this definition of conservative makes it much easier to converse with LSU fans.

Don't you people realize that Auburn had the ball deep in our territory with a few minutes left. If they had scored, they were an on-sides kick away from having a chance to tie us, or maybe win with a TD and 2-point conversion.

I prefer to play aggressively (both on O and D) for all 60 minutes. If we're good enough to get a 21 point lead, then we should keep doing those things and get a 28 or 35 point lead. Why stop playing and give momentum (and hope) to the other team? Once that happens, it's hard to flip the switch and start playing aggressively again.

Even though we won by 14, Auburn had a shot late in that game to get it to one score. That's far too close for me. When we have our foot on their neck, stomp!!

Because a previous LSU coach lost a 28 point lead doing just that against Auburn.
