Do you guys think our conservative offense so far has something to do with the fact that we lost Mettenberger, Hill, Landry, and Beckham? The coaches probably felt comfortable last year opening it up because of those guys, and can you blame them? SO what do you guys think?

Other teams lost star players and stick to the same offensive scheme with freshman.

You can't be timid. You have to trust younger kids and let them make mistakes. Handcuffing them and being conservative will NOT help them gain any experience or confidence

YES!

This is the same reason aTm is running a conservative offense after their Heisman QB and big time WR left. Makes sense - thanks for clarifying.

Yes, but we are not strong enough in the trenches to play slug it out football. We were more wide open last year until the 3 ints vs Ole Miss.

That's kinda what we're doing now...except the scheme doesn't fit the QBs nearly as well.

We've seen this shite with Jennings in the bowl game and against MS State, ULM and first half against Wisconsin. Expect more of the same. And lots of loses with this D

I think this is definitely the reason. Once our coaches have confidence in the players on the field, you'll see the same type of offense we ran with Mett and crew. I also think Les is too conservative in his estimation of his players' abilities. He is being overly cautious.

Am I taking crazy pills, or has the offense not been the same since Florida 2013? That gameplan was a carbon copy of Saturday. I remember we all justified it as Les was just exploiting Florida's weaknesses, but we never say that same offense we saw against UGA last year

Don't they have a senior QB though?

I don't think it's an issue of being conservative, it's more of an issue of trying the same thing over and over again when it doesn't work.
Running the I is great (even if sometimes boring) when you can block and run. We can't block. We won't wear teams down with 3 and outs. and it's embarrassing trying it over and over again to punt on 4th and 3.
"Conservative" is fine if it works. It obviously doesn't, for us, this year.

This argument has gotten beyond old. We have a "conservative offense" because Les is a bonehead and refused to adjust.

Need to gameplan to exploit the weaknesses of the opponent and not run the same stuff every week.

IMHO,It's The 2008 Ghost That Haunts The Mind Of Les Miles. He errs on the side of boring. When he goes to sleep he sees pick six when he wakes up he sees pick six. He just wants to give the ball to a big guy and watch him run.
