Call BS all you want. I'd lay good money on it.

Yea, since head coaches are obviously unnecessary. Why do they even have them?

Objective meaning they see things the same way you do?

Miles has been a better all around coach than Saban when they go head-to-head the last two years, but his effort has fallen short because of shortcomings in the players.

I will. You know as well as I that there is no way to prove it. However, any of the players could have called for that time out at Ole Miss. So I guess without Miles, they still wouldn't have done it.

0-3 season year which for most of you unrealistic pricks out there is a damn good season and keeps us in the hunt as perennial contenders.

Contenders for what? We didn't contend for anything. With a month to go before the SEC title and BCS bowl bids were to be decided and two months before the national title was to be decided, we were eliminated from all of them. We lost the SEC West by three games plus a tiebreaker. That's not contending.

We were in the game against Florida but never caught the break we needed.

We played a ridiculously stupid offensive scheme that allowed a great defense to completely shut us down so they could beat us by double digits on our homefield without even opening up their fricking playbook on offense.
quote:

you want to talk about coaching? no matter which bowl game we end up in, Miles has a proven track record (4-0) of fricking smashing our opponents.

Actually, that's a testament to POOR coaching. A good coach doesn't need a month to figure out how to use vastly superior talent to wipe out an outmanned opponent, which is all Miles has done in bowl games. That our coach does so much more poorly when he has the normal amount of time between games than he does when he has an abnormally long time is a strong indication that our coach isn't very good.

There is no doubt in my mind that, without any coaching staff at all and simply left to their own devices, this team goes at least 9-3 and maybe better

Left to their own devices, it would very quickly devolve into Lord of the Flies.

PS. If you don't get that reference, ask SloFloPro (aka Dr. 165).

So what does it say for all the "elite" coaches who have lost bowl games? (Saban, Meyer, Stoops, Carrol, etc.)

Bad example. Miles said only he was allowed to call timeouts.

If you wish to see the 3rd best record in the SEC, a top 15 ranking, and a possible New Year Day bowl games as "Mediocrity", knock yourself out.

I am happy for the players and especially the seniors for going out 9-3. That is an excellent record considering all of the close finishes. Miles coached teams always play down to their competition. Auburn this year was the exception. Miles/coaches best performance this year was Auburn and Alabama IMO.

At $4 mill/ year, I expect a more consistantly coached and managed season. Ups and downs are normal in college football, but it's been some time now that we have performed at a high level for a consistent period of time. Whatever you want to call it, it's not what I expect from an elite program. ELITE is what Miles took over !!!!

How about you just lay out some of the awesome coaching skills displayed by the man and we'll call it a day?

So getting beat by a crap Iowa team is considered elite, just because Saban left it?

Someone had to coach the players that Saban left. Does Miles get no credit for that?

You Saban nut swingers are comical.

How about you come up with a response to what I said? Oh yea, you don't have one. But you almost changed the subject.

As long as this season was marginally better than our worst season of the decade, everything is great.

Mediocrity RULES!

2000 - 8-4
2001 - 9-3
2002 - 8-5
2004 - 9-3

This decade, we had double-digit wins ONCE before Miles got here.
