We will finish the season at 8-4 or 7-5. I feel pretty sure.

on paper we should stomp the frick out of them. in reality our co dc's didn't change up anything yet so I'm worried they wont change and that usce will make it close.

If LSU finds some leaders and our co dc's get a clue and go back to good hard nose d then we stomp usce. If not then we win but closer than it should be.

I don't think there is anyway LSU would take a beat down two weeks in a row. But, I'm not so sure this isn't going to be a very close game. The USC defense will give LSU's offense trouble, unless they can get the running game on track. And right now, I have no confidence in the defense and the ability of the LSU coaches to come up with a gameplan to stop anyone. It seems like LSU would come out and just destroy this team, but I don't look for it to happen. I will be happy about a win, however they can get it.

Where in the world would you be getting that from? Nobody over the age of 12 thinks USC will win by a score like that.

We hope we win. And if we do, it will be because our defense gets some stops and our passing game scores just enough to win. We have a talented team, but they haven't put it together enough to dominate anyone, let alone LSU.

few LSU vs. USC predictions I found on the Cocks' sight.

quote:

38-10. USC rolls.
Spurrier has that light back in his eyes

quote:

I think South Carolina pulls off the "upset". I use that term very loosely, because after watching LSU play so far this year, I really don't believe USC is outmatched in this contest.

quote:

Garnet & Black - 31
Heaux Meaux -

quote:

USC 45
LSU 17

quote:

come on...I understand you beliving we do not win this game....But 30 plus points against our D...noway...in..Hell.....

quote:

Gamecocks: 42
LSU: 13

quote:

lsu reminds me of georgia..way overrated on defense, everyone seems to be basing too much on last year's defense...if uk can beat them in four overtimes (even though it was last year) in lexington i think we can in columbia!!!!

quote:

lsu's offense is not much better than ours accept they can run the ball. we will stop the run so i am not worried about there pathetic QB. if lsu thought florida's defense was good wait till they see ours.

hmmm...that all pisses me off a little. i understand they want they're team to win as bad as we want our's to win.....but excuse me when I say: frick them. I hope we go to Columbia with a chip on out shoulders and beat they're arse.

and it is even worse with some of the people that I know here. Telling me that Florida exposed us and I asked USC if they had a Tebow, Harvin, Demps or Rainey to which they reply "no we have Garcia"

You are probably one who thought we'd blow out Florida, right? How can you assume that I'm an idiot based on what I said? It's very possible. What do you think the season holds? Winning out and going to the SECCG and beating UF there? Yeah right. Who's the idiot?

In light of the defensive performance thus far and the remaining schedule, I don't think you can call someone "stupid" for concluding that the team may finish 8-4.

If we lose this week, 7-5. If we win, 8-4. Baby steps. It's going to take a bit of time to get back on track.

The worst possible thing on earth to happen to South Carolina, happened last Saturday at 7pm.

South Carolina is in some deep shite now. No fake field goals necessary.

you rantards continue to amaze me.

8-4? 7-5? Really? Les has lost a max of 3 games in one season? The world is not coming to an end. The sky is not falling.

Buckle your seat belts. hang on. and hope for the best. the man has a plan and will adjust things. Just wait until we play a Georgia or a Bama again, before deciding that our program is going down the drain.

if we get blown out again, then i am wrong, and you have every right to call me on it, and continue to act as if we are doomed.

From Cocky talk. We play one bad game and Carolina a nobody in the SEC is pretty even with us.

quote:

Last year is was 28-16 at their house and I honestly think we're better and they're worse than last year. I think we're close to even right now, and hopefully the Brice will be the difference.

That's a very reasonable observation.

If you guys are checking Cockytalk first let me say that finding a reasonable fan on that site is like finding a needle in a haystack.

I got banned from that site because I disagreed with a group of fans that thought the Boise St blue turf was so cool and they 'figured' they painted the grass. There was a 2 page thread on painting our field alternating garnet and black, or all black. painting. PAINTING.

so when I, a reasonable person, told them that its turf, not paint and that black paint would turn our jerseys into and the field would be hotter than hell I got banned. That is just a small microcosm of the tpe of fan on cockytalk. really hate all of those guys.

On talk radio here in town people are optimistic but no one is calling in with blowout predictions. Everyone is excited to see what our fresh QB can do with his first start (which worries me!) and we are also concerned about TO margin. We really need to win that battle.

The real reason for the optimism is that we think our D is better than Florida's D but most fans I have spoken to is super concerned about our O. We think we can hold you guys to around 20 points or so, but can we score more? that remains to be seen. I think those idiots over at Cockytalk fail to realize that while we played better than the score shows in KY, we needed way too many 3rd and long conversions to keep drives alive and our running game was non-existent. We cant throw all night, so we have lots to fix before you Tigers get into town Saturday night.

So anyway, while most of us are optimistic, a blowout on either side is probably not happening. If its as close as I think its going to be and we are having trouble moving the football, we might start giving up INTs and that could be our demise. we'll see, should be a great game!

also let me quickly add that we got an awesome commit today in Gilmore, Bowden got fired from our rival and everyone is giddy about seeing that program scramble, and a couple of Clemson commits have de-comitted and are now looking at us. So add that to the brew of a highly touted QB getting his first start and you guys losing and some fans are losing all rational thoughts.

as cowherd always says... they are fans. short for fanatics. unreasonable and crazy. I am just praying that despite this past week being a great one for our university its only the fans getting crazy and our players still have their heads on straight.
