Yesterday was an attempt to get him out in the summer heat and test his equalibrium when he starts to over-heat. We'l see what happens today.

I think Tebow starts Saturday. Even if he is not 100%. If the Doctors give Urban the green light, Urban puts Tebow in.

They are not preparing for two QBs. You really think that in the event that tebow plays, that he'll be the same bruiser he normally is?
They are going to prepare for an offense that will feature a QB(no matter which) throwing a lot of swing passes, screens, and 3 step drops. Things designed to keep a QB "safe".
They will also try using those speedy little backs in some kinda jet sweep-esque thing outa that modified wing urban loves so much.
Weather he plays or not is irrelevant.

However, a few spies on the ground in Gainesville will be able to tell whether he's ready with practice today and tomorrow. If yesterday was any indication, he's playing.

I had lunch with 3 docs this afternoon. All 3 agreed that it would be criminal to put him on the field Saturday. All 3 said that a concussion that severe will take 4-6 weeks minimum before it will be medically prudent to even consider allowing him to play full contact.

Tebow won't play on Saturday.

If Tebow does play...and the unfortunate thing happens of him being re-injured seriously, it will open the door for a lot of accusations that will get national exposure. Who will get the blame? His coach, the Doctors who cleared him, the LSU player causing the injury, etc. etc. What does Miles instruct the defense to do? "Whatever you do, don't hit him from the neck up"!! Get real, this is football and IMO he will be defensed as any other QB. Thoughts?

Attorney friend who deals in this kind of stuff says there's no way the doctors for the insurance co. clear him to play Saturday - no matter what UF doctor team says.

This is another good point. There's a good chance he won't be covered under his insurance policy if he plays this weekend and gets hurt to the point where he can't play football anymore.

All 3 have no more of an idea how severe it was than you or I do watching it on TV. I don't care whether or not he plays because I am fully confident in both our defense and his backup I just get tired of people talking out their arse.

3 doctors have a much better idea of what happened than the general public just based on the actual video of Tebow being out cold and vomiting on the sideline and then spending the night in the hospital. Just because you don't have a clue doesn't mean trained professionals don't either.

No, you are right, they would have a better understanding of the way any human body works, but any doctor that claims to be able to make a diagnosis based solely on what they see on TV is an idiot. I don't care if they graduated from med school or not.

I agree with your assessment-- no way he plays. I think the coaches on both sides are moving forward with that understanding.

No one is making a diagnosis based on what they saw on TV (however, fwiw, it was easy to make the concussion diagnosis on Tebow when it happened if you graduated from med school). They are now offering prognosis based on the info they saw and what has been reported and their medical knowledge. This is simple really...if Tebow plays Saturday, he's putting his future football career and his life at risk. Not saying he won't play, not saying he will. But I am saying he shouldn't.

Prognosis: 1. The expected course of a disease. 2. The patient's chance of recovery. The prognosis predicts the outcome of a disease and therefore the future for the patient. His prognosis is grim, for example, while hers is good.
Diagnosis: 1 The nature of a disease; the identification of an illness. 2 A conclusion or decision reached by diagnosis. The diagnosis is rabies. 3 The identification of any problem. The diagnosis was a plugged IV.

Looks like definition 2 of diagnosis to me but okay Mr Medschool it was a prognosis.

Where has it been reported that it was a severe concussion? Link? Because so far I haven't seen it.

He should not play... If they play him and he gets hurt, it will be a crime and Meyer should do jail time.

This is life. College football is just a game.

The dude was throwing up and couldn't read or watch TV for 4 days. How severe do you think it is? Clueless!!!
