Haha.........that magic box is scary.........

i thought Herm was being pretty critical of our offense. however, he was being honest.
LSU fans need to hear that.

Herm was just plain awful. He shouldn't be calling college game. Or any games for that matter.
I agree. His delivery was horrid. He might know a lot about football but he isn't good at communicating it. His sidekick wasn't a whole lot better. I guess that's what you get when you get to the bottom of the ESPN talent pool.

i think the calling a game for a network is too complex for edwards. But i do think the offense is too complex for a young quarterback.

like I said it's a whole bunch of nonsense just for him to hand it off to Ridley!

I like Herm, and he was spot on. I hate Gary Crowton's offense.
On more than a few occasions Herm would make some type of "LSU needs to do _______." type of comment and dont you know 5 or 10 minutes later LSU would do it and it would work. I guess the man has half a clue what hes talking about. Hell, I think Herm could run a better offense than Crowton/Miles.

offensive coaches put them into too many "complex formations" making the QB to have to think about too much pre-snap
This is called a Hermninism. I dread re-watching the game today to hear so much pitiful commentary.
The chart that was put up on the screen showed LSU ran 35 single-back formation plays to maybe a dozen or so other formations. It completely contradicted his assertion while he was making his assertion.

I noticed that comment as well and mentioned it to my wife. In the second half when we finally decided to run the football, things got less complicated and our offense worked a lot better.
Bottom line is that Crowton's offense appears to be too complicated for JJ to manage much of the time.
I liked how Herm would mumble under his breath. He knew what he was talking about. He also really liked our defense.

it wasn't pitiful commentary, the man was tellin the truth, a lot of shite LSU was doing was unneccesssry!

Let me get this straight. Ranters complaint that Crowton "doesn't open up the playbook and not be so vanilla." Then the Ranters want more complex formulas to disguise what we are doing. Now they say it is too complex and there is too much action just to hand off to Ridley. Bunch of babys. Take some Prozac and this condition usually abates.

Put your name on it, be a man. That's all he's sayin.

I would assume that formations are not just how many rb's are in the backfield, but also where the qb, te, wr's line up as well.
